I remember a quote about an Abbot in a monstary who was dying and he witnessed a cloud of witnesses ministering to him and angels coming to collect him and he was begging of the angels something. When the novices asked him what he was asking and he said he was asking for more time to repent. The Novices corrected him and said that he was the most perfect among them in repentance. To which the Abbot responded "I Truely do not know if I have begun to repent as of yet."

I would be relieved that's for sure. The fact that we all die at the end makes life not worth it. I do things, dream, have ambitions just to fill the time. If I were to die tonight then it all loses meaning which is fine.

Not to sound party crasher or whatever, but why is it worth it if you know you will die eventually? I do not mean I want you to sit around doing nothing tell you die, but I mean IF it is going to happen right now, what is there to regret? You lived how you lived and now you go. I never understand this sentiment when people still have so much to do. With ambitions yes I understand, you want to leave your mark, you still did not figure that formula out, you still did not make an enough of a name for yourself to be remembered through the ages, but I haven't bang enough girls? really?

Who says we will die eventually though? At the current rate of medicinal advances, it is predicted that human life can be extended significantly within the next few decades. And by that time, who knows perhaps downloading human consciousness into an artifical state will be possible therefore allowing humans to live forever i.e. i can reminisce for all the woman I have sex with until the end of time.......

If you haven't noticed, I was being facetious (as I was with the last part of my original post). But to answer your question, I guess it just depends on how you live your life. There are things I want to experience in life, if I don't then I would regret not being able to. Of course if I'm dead then I suppose it is a moot point isn't it?

No. I haven't left any kind of legacy behind: no scientific discoveries, nothing under my name, no contributions to humanity, I haven't even had children (not that I want to, at this point in my life). I would not be satisfied if I died now, with my only merits being a trophy in tennis and a gold medal at the school chess olympics.

I would prefer to go out on a bit more of a high note. The last 5 months have been pretty rough on my emotional and mental health. I've had a good life so far though. When it's my time, it's my time.
