It's not so much about bad or good:
Women tend to like men who can get things done. Who get what they want.
What kind of man tends to get things done? An *******.
But that is not always the case. Sometimes someone sweet can still open the right doors or be in control of things.

A funny thing is sometimes we get confused between what we like and what the opposite sex likes.
That is I think the reason some women behave badly. Foul mouth, stuck up, arrogant, sometimes a stereotype tirant.
But I don't think men generally find that attractive at all.
I'm not an expert, these are just my observations.

'Nice guy' and 'confidence' aren't mutually exclusive. I really think people need to learn this.

I also think this is mainly a problem of girls and not boys. For girls sexuality is very much a social event, not a private one. They talk about which man is hot and which one isn't. Popular guys are automatically hotter for most girls.
For boys sexuality is more hardwired.
A girls sexual interests can change drastically in 20 years time. Sometimes even going from straight to lesbian and back. With boys that rarely ever happens during their life.
So I think since the girls sexual interest can be easily changed, it should be up to girls to change that point of view about sexyness - if it is so much trouble or illogical - to something that makes more sense. Because there are plenty of great husbands who are never on T.V. or popular at school/work. Maybe the signs girls use to decide who is sexy should be revised.

If you have trouble reprogramming your mind like that maybe I could help you. My cuteness and creative intellect make me extremely hot for anyone.

I think its true for a lot of women on instinct, but the ones who have the most sense know its a good man who will give them real happiness. My ex wife totally cast me aside and started dating a "bad boy" while we were still separated. Thats what she wanted and thats what she got, he cheated on for months while she was at work before she figured it out. I treated her good, and all she ever did was complained with what she had. :(

doesn't really matter. humans don't practice natural selection through mate choice. It's pretty much self exclusion(asexual, or choosing not to reproduce), or an untimely death that prevents people from entering the gene pool. There are women, and men alike, that would sleep with anyone and don't really care if you're good or bad. Or even ugly.

They Friend-Zone you because you just act like you want to be friends (because you want to prove that not all guys are just after sex, even though you desperately want to have sex with her), are never assertive enough to go after what you want, expect them to make the move and then call them "dumb b****" when they don't.

It is about confidence and just being freaking comfortable with yourself.

You will get rejected. It is a given. Even with confidence and being comfortable with yourself it doesn't mean you are going to be every womens preferred flavor.

Grow a pair and put yourself out there and someone is bound to come along at some point.

I mean seriously, if I a 5'3, geeky gamer "nice guy" can get a girl anyone can! :P

I'm not a woman but I'll give my opinion anyway.

I wouldn't want to be with a guy who is a complete jerk but a guy who is able to dominate over you and break a few rules is quite ideal. "Good guys" tend to be rather boring and a bit of a push over

They like to date bad boys when they arent ready to settle down.

They marry good guys when they want a family, and what not.

It's not that women prefer bad boys. I know lots of decent guys who have no problem getting dates. Women prefer men that are not insecure heels. Too many "nice" guys happen to fall in that category. They are massively insecure and desperately hope a woman will ask them out since they will never have the confidence to do that themself.
