I've gotten used to Vista now so I'd choose that over XP, although I understand how XP could be better.
I'm going with Vista. Just because my Vista only had one problem the whole time I had it. So I actually got to use it pretty well.
XP by far over Vista. It was much easier to update and is less quirky.
It was a breeze to install drivers for XP, but Vista is a pain: especially 64-bit.
And the one at Microsoft who dreamed up UAC should be fired and blacklisted from any jobs dealing with PCs.:P:lol:
XP overall. I haven't tried Windows 7 because nothing is compatible with it yet.

This quote is so full of fail I can't even begin to comprehend it.
But between XP and Vista..tough call but I preferred Vista.
On newer hardware, that situation tends to be reversed. Vista is the one with the compatibility and xp is left floundering. Vista with the latest service pack easily out paces XP as far as OS quality is concerned.XP by far over Vista. It was much easier to update and is less quirky.

[QUOTE="XD4NTESINF3RNOX"]windows 7143C5Look at the title. Oh c'mon people aren't you all be nostalgic of xp and vista? How many time are you going to tell people to read the title when obviously they won't? Maybe you should change the poll to include Win 7? Anyways, like everyone else I prefer Win 7, but if it's between XP and Vista, then I'd choose Vista as long as it's SP2.

I think it's to determine which one we suffered more with before Windows 7 came jogging along.
Between Vista and XP, there's no question. XP by a landslide. If Seven were on there, though, then I'd choose it. The only thing I liked about Vista was its aesthetic. Otherwise it was slow, cumbersome, and frankly stupid.
XP all the way. Vista sucked for backwards compatibility with programs and hardware. Way too demanding on system resources. Not as secure that everyone thought. It's speaks for itself when even Microsoft had to push a new OS because Vista was as big as a flop like ME was. Big corprate businesses were ticked off of the new OS and the way Microsoft was trying to shovel Vista down yours and their throats. Vista cost everyone money and Microsoft knew it, so Windows 7 is their scapegoat.
I hate Vista, it's a joke. You should not have brought this topic up. I hate microsoft. I want them to die, all of them. They give me this piece of **** operating system then charge me $30 for a replacement disc since the disc they shipped me was cracked. All of this crap for this OS that under performs XP. This topic fills my mind with homicidal fantasies. Such as beating Bill Gates skull in with a framing hammer. I must leave before I smash my monitor.
I've just been using XP since it came out and I've never bothered to upgrade to Vista as it seemed to have a lot of problems with various add-on products and their software.
[QUOTE="Dylan_11"]Snow Leopard.143C5Snow Leopard never heard of that OS before It's the newest Mac OS I prefer Windows Vista Service Pack 3 (more commonly known as Windows 7 ;p.) But If I had to choose between the two listed, then Vista. It's fairly good now.
[QUOTE="FamiBox"]let me reiterate: as long as you have an amount of RAM that can be counted in GB, you can run Windows 7 just fine.Great. So all I need is $300.
Lolz?

The minimum system requirement for 64bit Windows 7 is 2GB... in other words having 4 would be a good idea for a fast system.
I currently have 2GB of RAM on an XP system (4x512mb), which is more than enough for a speedy system. I would have to buy 4 sticks of 1GB RAM for my system + $200 for Windows 7 Pro (Basic is no good.)
That's too much. Why bother? You generally get higher FPS in most games in XP currently and every program/game I use works.
I game so XP and Windows 7MrLions
And I game and I use vista 64bit for more than 2 years and I never have any problem.
[QUOTE="FamiBox"]I would have to buy 4 sticks of 1GB RAM for my system + $200 for Windows 7 Pro (Basic is no good.)Hewkiior you could buy two sticks of 2 Gig RAM. (PS: Windows 7 isn't like most video games, the minimum requirements are actually just fine for running it).
Nah. max capacity 1GB per slot. Yeah.. well not buying a new motherboard too :P
So with Vista the requirements they stated (512mb I believe) was nonsense. You can understand my caution.
