Why are videogames so 'uncool' on the social media?

I think that everyone has the vision that people who play videogames have terrible social lifes and are very keen at studies. I mean, I was called nerd because of my huge videogame collection even though I have a bunch of friends, I go out at night, I do sports and I go to the movies with my girlfriend.

I think that's the fault of social media like 'The Big Bang Theory' and others that like to make videogame players the biggest nerds/losers in the world...

Games were originally aimed almost completely at kids. Some people have the now ancient mindset of believing they're still aimed at kids and when they see anyone over the age of 14 playing them, they think they're lame because of it.

That's just the way it is. For many people, there are better things to do than waste time on video games..... or social media for that matter. Those who indulge in social media and take swipes at video games is merely a case of pot calling kettle black. They're really in the same boat in most people's eyes.

It's because of how most gamers present themselves.

Just go into System Wars to see how childish some of these people can act(because I doubt most of them are just doing it for the lulz).

Maybe 20 years ago, videogames were associated with nerds.  But they are so prevalent these days, that's no longer the case.

People probably still live in the past in a way when video games were for kids and socially awkward teens. Nowadays games are really for everyone and I can only describe those that say otherwise as ignorant.

Personally I don' t like the definition of "cool" the media are promoting.

Almost everyone these days play video games the ones who don't play games are just those who are completely against them and still watch the television in SD

videogames shouldn't be considered uncool anymore.......probably at least 50% of the youngest generation plays them now, so a good share of gals as well.

Depends on the type of Video game you are talking about.
