I have to say, the amount of hardcore christians and republicans on this forum is startling, I really would have originally anticipated that a video game forum would be primarily liberal and perhaps agnostic/athiest.

I'm perplexed, I have always viewed this as majority democrat/atheist. But I guess it depends on what time of day and the topic.

Republicans are actually in the minority here. As for the religion side, there are a lot of agnostics and atheists here but you just don't see them in debates very much because they don't care.

I've been noticing it more lately, with all the christian heavy and anti-obama threads, but, I've always viewed it as a republican forum (since joining), and it's always confused me to no end.

Conservative doesnt always mean Republican. Im moderately conservative, but I guess if you were to put me into a party, it would be Libertarian or maybe the Constitution Party or how about The Common Sense Party? Republicans and Democrats have it all wrong.

I see it as a largely neutral crowd. Nobody except a small minority really cares about much.

I wasn't around much, (school), but, I remember it being debated ad nauseam. Maybe the right wing is a more vocal minority here, whilst the liberals are a bit less likely to post, but are a majority?

Republican does not by any means mean evil. Realistically, political association is not a valid reason to dislike anyone as far as I'm concerned, I just found the amount of vocal repubs on this forum surprising.

Many video game fans become Republicans. It's the Dems who tell us what we can play, and I think a lot of hardcore gamers get fed up with that.

Because a majority of extrem Democrats use youtube. Type in Bush war crimes the video is like 5 starred and every comment concerng about Bush comming war crimes has like +1000 thumbs up. Then type in Bush covered up 9/11. The video creators will say crap like "main-stream media and goverment brainwashes you to think it was terriosts" I think they got it all wrong. I think they brainwash them selfs looking for clues that don't exist and try to brain wash other people". I'm not saying Bush was a great president but to suggest that he commited war crimes or knew and planned 9/11 is just stupid

Not really it's not just one party. I mean obviously the most famous anti-vdeio game activists are Hilary Clinton (Democrat), Joe Lieberman (Democrat) but Jack Thompson is actually a Rebublican. So really it's both stupid partys saying trying to censor or gmaes though it is more democrats (like Austrilas's goverement is liberal and look how many games are banned there)

You probably only percieve it being this way because they are more vocal and generally present better arguments because they are in the minority in the general age group of ot and have often had to defend their beliefs.

Interesting point, though I despise the nazis, I cannot see why their symbols would be out right banned, but, I'm all for free speech, even if what is said is awful.

In Canada anyways, it's entirely the christian right that objects to video games/media/etc, I have never seen anything from Jack Layton and Co. that could be construed as anti-video game.
