Who here plays real musical insturments ?

k rock band and guitar hero i know are just for fun but i just am not a fan of those games i personally think that they ruin alot of good artist names . but well save that for a different discussion . i play guitar i wanna learn bass soon i am in the market for a new guitar the guitar i have now is nice its a Bc rich warlock , and i am currently gonna get a BC RICH BICH . post what insturments you play .

I can play the trumpet, cornet, french horn, and a little bit of percussion. I want to learn how to play piano one day.

I play the Euphonium. Look it up. And based on this thread i've come to the conclusion that the world has no shortage of guitar players.

I do, in fact I just had a college audition today to go into music composition, and music education

I remember I was getting pretty decent during 7th grade (I was reaching high C), and then I received braces. That really hampered my development as a trumpet player...those things would always leave deep cuts in my mouth!

I never had that sort of problem, but I did have trouble adjusting when I first got them on and off, since it messed up my embouchure.thriteenthmonke

Mine were really uncomfortable, with the constant adjustments by the orthodontist, spacers, and then the retainer afterwards. I had to make adjustments as well, but the wounds in my mouth would worsen the longer I played, which really hurt my ability to play higher notes for extended periods of time.Needless to say, I was very pleased when I got them off.

pretty cool to see alot of you guys actually play some insturments , i see alot of people playing classical insturments on here thats cool .

Any tips on how to get better with piano? I know how to read music and I have a decent idea on how to make good chords given my prior musical experience...but I always have trouble remembering where the correct keys are and even when I do, I sometimes can't reach them. =P

I mostly play the flute and piano these days. I used to be in orchestra a number of years ago, and the viola was my main instrument then.

I've tried to learn the guitar before, but I haven't been able to get the hang of it. Someday...!

Any tips on how to get better with piano? I know how to read music and I have a decent idea on how to make good chords given my prior musical experience...but I always have trouble remembering where the correct keys are and even when I do, I sometimes can't reach them. =P

If your playing chords with your left hand, try playing the first, fifth and the octave above it instead of the first, third, and fifth. I find this method easier because your hand position rarely changes.

Example: To play a C chord you hit C, G and the C above G.

I'm damn near beastly with the tuba. I play a little acoustic guitar as well.

Piano for me, obviously. I've worked with violin and percussion as well, but piano is the only one that I tell people I play, as it's the only one I took to a professional standard.
