I tried to get a good variety of people ofwho to put on the list and well personally I would say Hitler never had one man caused so much destruction and I guarantee he will be known for a very very long time.
I mean he quite well have lead the perfect life. I mean i would love to have people talking about me 2000 years after i die, not that i would know but i doubt people will be talking about me 2 weeks after i die. And, not only that but he has an entire religious following and has become and idol and symbol for the whole christian movement, i mean weither or not he could do all those things doesn't seem to affect the fact that he is the most well known person on the planet...

They're probably atheists. At least, that's what I think. People tend to say things they know aren't truee to validate something they believe. It happens with everything.

I wasn't saying anyone in particular does it.An example ispeople who say things like "There is definitely WMD's in Iraq, or there were but they got moved." It's wrong, but they say it to validate their beliefs.
I don't quite know about Jesus. You also have to consider Budha. Sure, Budha isn't as well-known in Western culture, but he's basically the Jesus of Asia. And there are a whole whack of people living in China and India, who are devout budhists.

Very true, Siddhartha Gautama is a very well known figure in history. I think that it would come down to a pure numbers comparison... but records only go back so far. It would be close but in terms of present day, Jesus is far more known then Gautama.

I'm an Atheist and I still believe Jesus was a man, although, a man that didn't have such, supernatural events.
