Rather odd groupings of countries.

option 1: social democracy / welfare state

option 2: right wing capitalism

option 3: (ex) communism / dictatorship

Is this what this is about?

Option 2, though option 1 are also Democracies like the US is. People who think that France and Canada etc...are socialist countries are wrong, they have a Capitalist based economies that drive competition for profit, they just have a few more social programs than we do, that does not make them socialists.

The only socialist countries on that list are China and Cuba, which are now communists which happens to all socialist countries sooner or later.

Anyone who says that hasn't lived in Canada. Sure they have some similarities but it's still a different place.

And Canadians don't like being associated with the US.

Aren't the USA and Canada (politically) considered Sister Nations?

Far more similar to each other than the other countries in the poll....

They sure don't mind. Canadians who transplanted to my hometown. They even wave Canadian flags during the Fourth of July.

By what criteria are we to judge "better" here?

Well since he didn't specify I'm gonna go with geographical uniqueness; because political and social systems are boring. US and UK/Ireland are both pretty rich in awesome landscapes and geographical features. Don't know much about SK but I'm sure it's pretty as well.

I know about Quebec. We're not too far from Montreal as well as Ottawa. As for those Canadians in my hometown, they're ranchers from the Canadian midwest.

I also have friends at Winnipeg and Saskatoon. I've asked them that question before and all I got was a shrug and a "no" from them.

US...UK...Canada....Ireland.

Bad categories in poll though. I picked countries where I understood the language. Always a plus....besides...they aren't that different.

Wrong. It means something when someone makes the claim "Canadians don't like being associated with the US.

Canadians are snobs, they are lucky to have the U.S. to protect their butts if Canada was ever threatened.

How you group together the countries here doesn't make any sense. Well, the worst are probably Scandinavian countries, USA, Russia and China are probably the worst.

I've come to the conclusion, after reading this topic, that there's probably a canadian that's going around kicking the dogs of certain members here.

Sheesh, And I thought the Norwegian/Swedish bantering/rivalry were bad.

Not qualified to answer as I've never been outside the US nor care to learn anything important about the other countries, cause I'm your typical ignorant, slack jawed, gun toting american. I do however feel I'm learning a lot about Canada thanks to the countries spokesperson, brimmul777, for schooling me on their thoughts and feelings.

I've never been in any of those countries so I couldn't offer a good opinion.

That and I don't know what they mean by "better."
As if for living? geographically, culture wise?

Perhaps you mean Albertans. The only reason I imagine Quebecers would like Americans is because of investment money.
