What's with all the basic and daemon names in GS?

Can anyone tell me why there are so many GS users with basic or daemon in their names?

_basic because back then on gamespot a free user would be called (name here then added a _basic)

Daemon I'm not sure maybe there just awesome. :?

Because back then basic members had that as a name.

Even further back, usernames consisted of a first and last name.

No...they can't remove it now. You have to have a new account. Back in the day they had a time limit for removing it. I didn't post much so I didn't care. Things seem to have...changed. But I wouldn't get rid of it now if I could.

I can only assume that other people have them either due to the recent overuse of the word Daemon in many created programs and computer definitions, or they are big Warhammer fans as I understand that spelling is used quite often in novels based on the game.

I personally have been using it on BBS systems since the 80's due to my D&D exposure and the fact that Daemon with one letter removed is my actual name. I never had a problem with others using it until the last 5 years or so. My original account was just "Daemon" but it was lost in the great Gamespot/Gamefaqs merger and I had to start another one.
