I was just wondering, do you think it's the way people are bought up that causes someone to be gay.

Or people are born gay like it may be a gene.

Do you have any gay friends? What do they say?

What do you think?

I don't think that it could be a gene as your father and grandfathers are hetrosexual.

Aswell, a lot of people say they've known that they were 'different' since they were young.

So yeah I don't know.

PS I don't dislike gays or whatever.

If I had to guess I would say that it is a series of genetic predispositions combined with environmental factors. Possibly a population control.

I definately think its something you're born with. One of my friends is gay and he says he's always known he was. In fact, his first kiss was with another boy when he was like 6.

It's purely genetic, but often hidden until older through a desire to socially fit in.

P.S. I'm not gay I'm just not ignorant.

I'm still unsure of what causes it. I only know that is isn't something you choose. But it could be something you're born with, or it could happen through environmental factors.

What makes a person straight?duxup

Hell, I don't know man.

Personally, I think heterosexuality is just a choice. I mean, I keep hearing guys saying "I was born attracted to girls," but I know they're just trying to be rebellious and garner unnecessary attention. Also, it probably has something to do with Satanic rituals.

It's just a phase, really. At some point they'll realize they're just trying to be different, and then they'll go back to being homosexual, just as God intended.

I think my lack of choosing to be gay would be evidence enough. Choosing to act upon your sexuality is not the same as choosing it to begin with.

They weren't straight. They just weren't out. Either they didn't know they were gay or they did know, but didn't want to tell anyone. People just assume that because someone isn't openly gay that they're straight. That's not the case. Before you know, you aren't straight, you're just confused.

The guy you're talking to is gay he knows more about than you do, it's ridiculous to tell him what "it" is. Those friends were not straight, they didn't "turn gay they "came out" as they say, or realised they were gay There is no personal choice involved, I know that quite well.

If beeing gay is a choice, does that mean that you could also suddenly choose to be gay and live the rest of your life that way?

Its is used on System Wars of supporters of all the consoles and everything within gaming. You try to stay balanced and to not make fanboyìsh statement against other fanboys or consoles.

Manticores are also mythical creatures, in other words dosent exict in reality. And is also a reason why the term Manticores are used in SW, it is an aknowlegment that nobody, including the Manticores themselves, is completely unbiased. You will always favor one above the others. The difference from regular fanboys is that you try your best not to let your biase get in the way of your posts.

The only people that are ignorant in this thread are the ones who are outright saying 'It's Genetic 100%', when the scientific evidence to prove this claim is very very limited.

What do I think? I think it's nothing to do with genes, but I can hardly regard it as a 'choice' either. Let me explain:

Because it's important for us to accept homosexuality, i think often many people use the 'in the genes' arguement to add an extra level of acceptance. However, when it comes to something like paedophillia - there are many, many people out there who are naturally attracted to young children. What do we call them? Psychopaths. Monsters. Nobody sympathises with the 'it's in the genes' arguement.

My personal opinion is that sexuality functions in a very similar way to anything you like. For example, I might prefer Skiing to Snowboarding - It's not genetic at all, but, no matter how much i try, i can't just change the fact that i prefer skiing, even though snowboarding might seem more fun, and all my friends go snowboarding.

People might prefer members of their own sex despite what they'd LIKE, and it doesn't have to be genetic. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this, and I think regardless of whether homosexuality is genetic or choice, we should all accept homosexuals into our lives and communities without judgement nor prejudice.
