The only people that are ignorant in this thread are the ones who are outright saying 'It's Genetic 100%', when the scientific evidence to prove this claim is very very limited.
What do I think? I think it's nothing to do with genes, but I can hardly regard it as a 'choice' either. Let me explain:
Because it's important for us to accept homosexuality, i think often many people use the 'in the genes' arguement to add an extra level of acceptance. However, when it comes to something like paedophillia - there are many, many people out there who are naturally attracted to young children. What do we call them? Psychopaths. Monsters. Nobody sympathises with the 'it's in the genes' arguement.
My personal opinion is that sexuality functions in a very similar way to anything you like. For example, I might prefer Skiing to Snowboarding - It's not genetic at all, but, no matter how much i try, i can't just change the fact that i prefer skiing, even though snowboarding might seem more fun, and all my friends go snowboarding.
People might prefer members of their own sex despite what they'd LIKE, and it doesn't have to be genetic. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this, and I think regardless of whether homosexuality is genetic or choice, we should all accept homosexuals into our lives and communities without judgement nor prejudice.
