It seems as though the new ToU has put people under the impression that going to the gutter is a good way to converse. It's wearing on my nerves as well.
To make a forum worse is definitely not good. mrmusicman247
I honestly don't see what the rule change has to do with the increase in trolls, though. What people complain about the most is how many ridiculously stupid topics are being made, and there isn't a whol lot in the rules that has changed with regards to that. Yeah, there are a bunch of people saying stupid things and swearing now, but everyone else ahs the ability to swear right back and call them out on being stupid without worrying about being modded for it. It'll get better.
If you don't like the forums go away.
I'm being nice
FMAB_GTOIn a strange twist one could say if you don't like his threads go away. And I'm being nice.;)
SW is there to keep all the rotten eggs in one basket. Enter at your own risk. If you desire sanity, go one step above to Primary Games Discussion. Obviously, most prefer the chaos in SW.
OT? I visit OT to take a break from SW. OT is pretty tame.

I should clarify. There have been an increase in the lower level trolls. Before there were trolls all around but there were higher class of trolls who knew how to work the system. Now there are no restrictions those lower level trolls have appeared more and the higher level ones have dissipated since there is no challenge anymore.

To make a forum worse is definitely not good. I know it is to much to ask for.I suppose the fact that you're actually allowed to troll dosen't really help much either :P
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea......let's allow trolling and see how that goes

I disagree, I think swearing is a perfect way of expressing extreme emotion. In fact, to not swear in some instances would be to not express one's true emotions and would be a form of self-censorship. That's not to say that some people don't need to learn to control their emotions better, but when the situation warrants it I think swearing is perfectly accpetable.

Huh....I'm in the real world with adults every single day....and not much swearing goes on. I suppose with the younger set it's an every day occurrence. But that has nothing to do with the point. In your haste to "impress" OT....you still don't grasp the point. I get it....your every day language is peppered with swearing. Congratulations. But that doesn't mean everyone here does that nor that they have contact with constant swearing for the sake of swearing. Who's pretending? You were allowed to censor your swear words if you wanted before the rules changed.
Swearing brings nothing worthwhile to a discussion... Correct. In a discussion....it's not needed. Smack a hammer and on your finger and it's an appropriate reaction. But I guess we have to deal with the best and the worst of people and some can't express themselves without swears. Not a good sign for the future. I'm not going to lie....I swear. Swearing ceases to be edgy and cool once you hit 14 or so i think.

People are entitled to their own opinion whether that pleases you or not.I actually don't swear that much in real life. I don't think I swear all that much online either, my rule in both instances is if I think it's warranted I'll do it. It's not swearing for the sake of swearing, as I said it's swearing specifically to express extreme emotion. I know some people like to swear haphazardly, but again like in the real world we just have to deal with those people instead of making up rules to shield us from them.

Who's pretending? You were allowed to censor your swear words if you wanted before the rules changed. You're allowed to censor them now, and you still have to censor them to some degree or screw with the HTML or something.

In certain situations yes, other words simply do not do emotions justice.
