I think its about a guy in his early 20s (probably out of college)who killed a man and is sentenced to death...But what's with the rest of the song? ugh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe9PSliDG4M

And before the 3 minute mark its a perfect song, but I just don't see at all what people like about the Opra part, it just ruins the feeling. And some people say it's the best part?

Like most classic rock songs there is no meaning. It's just a bunch of gibberish. You listen to it and don't think about the lyrics.

Well, maybe if you actually knew the meaning of the entire song then you could appreciate the opera part. Sadly, I can't help you there.

The opera part is all about the trial some saying let him go (my guess is his lawyer and possibly some of the jury) and the other part saying we won't let you go (Other part of the jury, the prosecution etc).

O love that song.

Freddie Mercury has said that Bohemian Rhapsody was a tounge in cheek joke on operas. And I for one love the song and love the opera portion of the song.

I have never been angry at a song parody until now. I guess Bohemian Rhapsody is on a bit of a pedestal for me. at any rate try this song on for size. It's not exactly a parody of Bohemian Rhapsody but it does use some of it's lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6rLMchPYSw

All i know is that the song is full of win. It really shows the emotion that Freddie could put into his songs. The end always makes me sad when I think about how he died. BUT, then I listen to Dont Stop Me Now and get happy again.:)

duh. totally obvious. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide No escape from reality Open your eyes Look up to the skies and see I'm just a poor boy (Poor boy) I need no sympathy Because I'm easy come, easy go Little high, little low Any way the wind blows Doesn't really matter to me, to me Mama just killed a man Put a gun against his head Pulled my trigger, now he's dead Mama, life has just begun But now I've gone and thrown it all away Mama, ooh Didn't mean to make you cry If I'm not back again this time tomorrow Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters Too late, my time has come Sends shivers down my spine Body's aching all the time Goodbye, everybody I've got to go Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth Mama, oooooooh (Anyway the wind blows) I don't want to die Sometimes wish I'd never been born at all [Guitar Solo] I see a little silhouetto of a man Scaramouch, Scaramouch, will you do the Fandango Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening me (Galileo) Galileo (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro Magnifico-o-o-o-o I'm just a poor boy nobody loves me He's just a poor boy from a poor family Spare him his life from this monstrosity Easy come, easy go, will you let me go? Bismillah! No, we will not let you go Let him go Bismillah! We will not let you go Let him go Bismillah! We will not let you go Let me go (Will not let you go) Let me go (Will not let you go) (Never, never, never, never) Let me go, o, o, o, o No, no, no, no, no, no, no (Oh mama mia, mama mia) Mama Mia, let me go Beelzebub has the devil put aside for me, for me, for me! So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye So you think you can love me and leave me to die Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here [Guitar Solo] (Oooh yeah, Oooh yeah) Nothing really matters Anyone can see Nothing really matters Nothing really matters to me Any way the wind blows...

Better put on a flame shield.

Anyway, I think the opera part adds a lot of musicianship to Bohemian Rhapsody. Whatelse can you expect from "A Night at the OPERA"?

It's a great song. I think it's about something like damnation, or maybe a poor, sad life.
