Funny, you asked why and everyone just says either GTA3 or Halo 2 with no why

In my opinion I would play both. I dunno bout you, but I sometimes need a break from games. Play GTA3 for its awsome story line and genuinely fun gameplay. Halo 2 Live is awsome cos your playing with other ppl, kickin the crap out of them:D

Play both games!

Never played GTA but I did play Halo 1. I'd go Halo, or neither.

GTA III is a better game. So, play GTA III. I still haven't beat Halo 2...I'm stuck somewhere within the game where monsters can 1 shot me. :(

End gta3 because if you don't you will end up not playing a good game. When done play halo2 online.
