Who knows, maybe something life changing (or ending) will happen... or maybe we will have a Merry Christmas a few days later. What I do know is that there is a search button on this board.
I dont think it will end, its just stupid to believe in that kind of superstitious stuff. Though i do believe one day the world will end due to pollution, war, etc. Or the sun will just supernova and desroy everything...
On December 21, 2012, the Sun will rise in the morning and be present through out the day, then it will set. Then at midnight the day will change to the 22nd of December. That's what I think is going to happen.
The biggest load of ****ing bull*** to ever come out of the minds of people. The world's "end" has been predicted so many times, you would think even the most illogical people would have, by now, come to notice that every single prediction has never come true and never will.
If you watch enough History Channel or Discovery Channel, they tend to talk about these kinds of things. I've seen lots of shows on these channels that talk about how precise the Mayans were at predicting astrological events. I gotta admit, its pretty creepy to know that over 3000 years ago, they were able to predict stuff that happened over the last 500 years down to the month and year.
What I AM afraid of is that it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy, where some madman, thinking the world should end, will MAKE it end, via nuclear holocaust. Truth is you never know!

It's based on the Mayan calander. The calander apparently spands a little over 5000 years. And then stops on 11:11 AM Dec. 21 2012. So many people believe it means there will be an apocolypse. During that moment, the sun will be exactly aligned w/ the center of the Milky Way. Causing chaos on Earth. But others believe it means mankind will experience a new and higher form of consciousness. Whatever that means.
Why are people obessed w/ this primitive calander? Some say it predicted every major war and disaster in the world.
People have been talking about this for years. Many musicians mentioned this in their songs. There are countless books on this topic. And this is where the idea for 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls' came from.
Nostradomus predicted so many things that at some point in time hes bound to be right about something, they are all so vague, and can be interprited how ever you want sometimes

Technically the Meso-American Long Count calendar doesn't "stop" it just "resets" to a new long count on that date. If these 2012 alarmists actually spent some time reaserching the actual calendar, they would know that. There are even dates well into the future that have been recorded at various sites. 21 October 4772
What this load of crap is based off of is the Mayan MYTH that "the old world will end and a new age will begin" on that date.
The most significant thing about 12/21/12 is that it's the winter solstice,which is a pretty important date to many.I mean,considering it's significance,it doesn't seem very far-fetched that an ancient calender would end on such a date,but apparently the end of a calender means the end of the world...
