Here on OT we frequently post Simpsons images and .GIF in response to posts because damn, The Simpsons has something to relate to literally every situation. So I ask you denizens of this here forum, what are your favourite episodes and/or moments?

Basically the entire episode of "Homer At The Bat" which apparently is turning 25 in May and will be honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame. Seasons 2-8, man, the memories...

This one had me rolling on the floor yesterday. The little guy was so happy just a moment ago.

Although my favorite episode is "Homer Loves Flanders"

@perfect_blue:

One super special moment for me was in Season 6, episode 116, "And Maggie Makes Three"

Towards the end, Homer got his job back after begging for it. I believe it was a flashback. Mr. Burns left a sign in front of Homer's desk that said, "Don't forget: you're here forever!" And then it showed time progressing and photos of Maggie start covering that sign until it spelled out, "Do it for her." instead. ??

That's a great one. The early episodes have so much heart to them.

Compared to Family Guy's early and current episodes, it really puts it in perspective which show has more heart.

That episode where Lisa became a vegetarian. Highlight for me was what Apu said about tolerating others instead of forcing your belief on them. Also the ending with Homer and Lisa walking into the sunset.

Overall, I think Futurama had a lot more of these heartwarming moments than Simpsons, it's also just funnier in general IMO.

The one where Homer goes behind the piano (or bookcase) and enters an alternate reality as a real life person. I thought the Simpsons series would carry on in 3D forever after that.

Futurama was brilliant as well, and probably only didn't receive it's due because it lived in the shadow of The Simpsons.

The early Simpsons really had a lot of heart, though. It just doesn't seem so now because they all but abandoned such moments after season 10-ish.

I saw Mike Reiss speak in college, and he said the reason they abandoned those moments was, literally, they ran out of ideas for them. In his own words, "There's only so much you can do."

That moment gets me everytime. And nothing ever gets me.

My favorite episodes have to be any typical Homer episodes where Homer is at his most Homer. Episodes like the Stonecutters and also the one where he brings Ned to Vegas.

Not only did the episodes in the past have more heart to them but they were much more fast paced. They really fit a lot in one episode. Nowadays there is so much filler, silent moments and humor stretching. That's not to say a golden episode doesn't pop up once in a while.

The episodes that I most relate to involve Bart. I really empathised with him when he lost his soul and also in this episode:

Yep, absolutely wonderful scene.

Like this scene as well, Barney suppose to be his pal in this clip and far more drunk.

There's an episode where CPS shows up at the house, they see Maggie with a note taped to her that says, "Stupid Baby". The agent runs over and says, "Stupid babies need the most attention".

for me i like some of subtle things they do.

for example. lisa can hear bart's trash can coming and takes a second or two to just stare at the camera.. just cracks me up.

also love it when things that are not supposed to explode do explode. they do that fairly often. here's one example

lastly. this is fucking hilarious.

Asking me for my favorite Simpsons moment is impossible.

Let's just say everything from season 1-15 is held dearly to me.

I do recall a Futurama episode where Fry goes back to the past regarding his lucky charm. Memories of his rival brother caused him to dislike his brother untill he found his brother named his son after him.

Futurama is fantastic but Simpsons' highs are a lot higher than Futarama.

This isn't a knock against Futarama, it's just Simpsons at their very best is some of the best TV ever produced.

Jesus...seeing all these early (but not too early!) clips. Really makes your eyes gets a little moist. I mean the show was really amazing.

And then it just went to absolute, complete shit.

Anyway, I was always fond of episodes where Sideshow Bob showed up. Coincidentally, they were Chief Wiggum heavy episodes and he is also a favorite character of mine.
