No athlete is allowed to bring a religious artifact either like a bible or they are disqualified, communism at it's best. ferrari2001
You don't even know what communism is if you think that is communist.

That has nothing to do with communism. It's just China being anal again.
I heard they killed hundreds of street cats are something to help the Olympics,Horrible..if its true.Wolf-avatar
Mmm. I'm sure that made a whole bunch of hungry kids happy.

"Communism at it's best"?.
Why would China care if somone is a Darfur activist?...Tibet yes...but Darfur?.....Omni-Slash
China has some pretty important trade agreements in that area (oil and weapon deals), I think that's why.

Actually, yes...it is communism.

Communism is extremely anti-religious...explain how such a banning of religious artifacts in a communistic country has nothing to do with communism, please.

Actually, yes...it is communism.
Communism has to deal with classless and stateless societies, not religion.
Of course there are other types of communism branches that deal with religion but communism by itself does not.

Because china is not a real communist society perhaps... maybe you should research what communism actually is and you would know there has never been a true communism society.
BANGKOK, Thailand - Bound for the Beijing Olympics, President Bush is carrying a message of "deep concerns" about the state of human rights in China and urging the communist nation to allow political freedoms for its citizens.

Are you serious? Have you ever read the Communist Manifesto or Das Kapital? The communistic principles are extremely anti-religion. The collective is supposed to be the highest "authority", the spiritual and theistic religions ruin this picture completely.

You can argue semantics all day long, but it still won't change the fact that the banning of religious artifacts, in this case, is because of communism.
Terrorists will blow the whole thing up anyway. MARK MY WORDS!!!batboy113
why are you predicting this?
Um, I'm still going to watch. What is not watching going to do to China? To "teach 'em a lesson"? Give me a break.FragStains
And considering most of us here don't have Nielsen boxes, not watching the olympics won't even effect the ratings...and I'm sure China doesn't give a crap about theTV ratings anyway.
Not watching the olympics to protest China is probably the most pointless thing I have ever heard of.
I think its actually good that the Olympics are being held in China, sure there are lots of negetives, but it also helps China opens inself more to the world.Lonelynight
Yeah, I agree with this^^

OMGZZ! someone actually agrees with me:o and its jointed.
:P
Thats a communist country for you. They are always going to try to show their people that they have the power, not the people. It won't last much longer.Wasdiehopefully
I think we should boycott those who are warping the Olympics into a political message.
The Olympics at their core are about the athletes, while I feel that the OIC made a grave error in handing the Olympics to China in the first place, the reality is the mistake was made.
Boycotting the Olympics does more to harm the amatuer athletes from countries all over the world then it does to harm China who has dealt with worldwide protests for decades.
The Olympic games should be bigger then its host country, but as per usual you have a series of attention seeking activists who want to get their 15 minutes.
just wondering but are the iraq and afganistan wars put on hold, beacose of the olympic games.Enosh88No they are not, wars/conflicts in the past have still went on during the Olympics. This one won't be any different.
