The first of many new WAYLT threads!

Remember there are new rules in effect:

You may post two (2) times each hour about a song that you are listening to. Since you can only do so twice an hour, it would be fantastic if you added more information about your songs, but you do not have to. What happens if you post more than twice an hour? Answer: The same as if you broke any other rule, you'll be warned, and the "punishment" will grow the more you break the rule.

The 2 post rule applies to users that want to only post an "Artist/Title" only post. Discussion in the thread is not counted as one of your posts, feel free to discuss other people's choices of music as long as it's a discussion and not disruptive in nature.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I will say this, if you don't like these rules, please don't post here. There are tons of other places you can go.

Thanks. Have fun, be respectful, and once again thanks:)

Twilight of the thunder god by Amon Amarth.

It's the title track off their new album. The music video is by far their best one yet, imo.

Kaoru Abe - 1972.1.Bcl 1.

"Bcl" being bass clarinet. Kaoru Abe was a Japanese free jazz saxophonist. Died in the 70s due to drugs or whatever people usually overdose on. He's quite noisy. Great for people who can stomach it; I can stomach it.

EDIT: To clarify, it's on the album Another Day's Dream.

Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones.

I was never really into the Stones until recently, but I can't really stop myself from listening to them now.

Genesis - Mama

After this song was featured in one of the radio stations in Grand Theft Auto IV, I just cant stop listening to it. I even bought Genesis greatest hits CD. "I Can't Dance" is another great song by them.

Fort Minor - "Kenji"

Just a hip hop band I happened to be listening to when I noticed this thread. The song is AWESOME, it's a story about how the Japanese were treated in the States after Pearl Harbor. I recommend it to anyone.

Counting Blue Cars - Dishwalla

I just started listening to it today, and I have to say I really like it. It talks about a child asking questions about God, and I found it interesting that they refer to God in his song as "Her." Raises some interesting questions as to faith and religion.

American Idiot is probably one of my least favourite Green Day albums. I liked the old days of Dookie and Nimrod over their new style of American Idiot. There are a few good songs on American Idiot, but not like the old days of every song being great :(

"Round and Round" - L'Arc~en~Ciel

Not a popular song by this group, but I started liking it after listening to it a few times. I love the sound of the guitar and the effect of Hyde's voice. Recently, I saw the "punk~en~ciel" version, which didn't really get my attention >.>... ~ de arimasu

zepman71

I like the John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, and I'm mentioning it because it's as much of a Beatles album as Liquid Swords was a Wu-Tang Clan album.

In case you don't read, I'm essentially implying that John Lennon was The Beatles.

I am quite fond of Dvorak's 7th symphony myself...

The way he induces an emotional response is amazing, and the musical phrases in each movement are truly unforgettable...

already seeing it russ...... teh bad posts

anyway---

All my friends are metalheads by Less Than Jake

this is a song I discovered off of an old movie I liked long ago, Digimon The Movie. On the soundtrack is a bunch of this poppt 90's music from Smash Mouth and Mighty Might Basstones that I like. For some reason the riff of this song and the voice go so well with the time period and the movie I thought. This song I just recently rediscovered and I listened through two other Less Than Jake albums, this and Overrated are their best songs imo.

Anybody ever listen to em or heard this song? or discover good music from your past?

It's just that that's what the fanbase likes, as that's what the band originally played to get well-known. I think?

Hmm yea I guess that about sums it up. But still I find it a bit odd. If the new stuff was as good as the old stuff would it really matter?
