US CEO pay holds 1% correlation to stock performance.

This is a chart of 200 different CEO pay compared to business stock return. If this chart just looks like a bunch of scattered dots, that's because it pretty much is. The correlation is pretty much non-existent.

Personally, I think there is some order in the chaos. Stocks don't mean everything, especially for the past few years.

Business men are all liars and cheats. I have no respect for any of them.

There are more liars and cheats in government than in private business.

The issue is at the Board level and governance, which in my experience is largely broken and in need of major overhaul. Unfortunately, that is unlikely to be fixed until shareholders start throwing their weight around.

Corporations aren't meritocracies. They're centrally planned economies.
