Why should you excuse what he did though? I never discussed this as being rape. But in what world is okay to do what he did? I don't care if he backed off when confronted. What he did was wrong. And that shouldn't be defended.
You most certainly should care that he backed off if, as a male, you are concerned with men's rights. What he did was wrong, I stated that more than once, and am getting tired of repeating myself. It wasn't rape as many are painting it as. It just wasn't, and saying it doesn't make it so, nor does me saying it wasn't make me automatically excuse his behavior. Is there any way to argue what I am without being viewed an apologist for what Malka did? If so, how would you frame it?
My position would change if her story did. If she said he tried to force himself on her, then I'd be a bit more lenient on accusations of rape considering this guy's past (grabbing a woman's ass at a Paris party as an act of "dominance") and his totalitarian behavior as an admin on GAF, the "revenge porn" incident. But by her own words, I repeat, BY HER OWN WORDS, he backed off. You think that doesn't matter, I believe it matters a hell of a lot in determining sexual assault to the degree it's being tossed around, and I argue that from the perspective of a man who fears in the future of being accused of such a horrific claim despite the woman testifying in my favor. That fact should give you more than just a little pause. Are people completely off their fucking rocker to even humor the notion that what Malka did constituted rape? Do they hold no conceptualization as to the distinction of a man acting the idiot getting into a shower naked behind someone on mistaken presumption, and a man penetrating a woman who's screaming, crying, begging, and pleading to stop who is going to be psychologically scarred for the rest of her life? There appears to me to be a complete lack of understanding of the gravity of these actions in comparison to one another. Getting into the shower naked behind a woman and getting rejected isn't even remotely comparable to raping her, and I consider those who even come close to conflating such actions to be bigger scum than the person that they are accusing predicated on such grounds.
Rape is claimed, not by you I understand, but by far too many people that I've seen across the web, with all the shit that comes along with it even in light of the woman absolving him of that act. That is the core of my problem.
