I saw it when I was young.

SPOILERS

The part that really stuck in my mind was when you see a head being bounced like a basketball from a window. Polanksi's character looks out the window and sees people being mugged or something(it wasn't clear what the hell was going on, the girl and her mother were in masks) and they point him out. So freaky. And the ending dropped my jaw.

Yes and they're very under rated films. The Fog is an amazing ghost story, with great atmosphere, and Prince of Darkness was ahead of its time; there's scenes in that film that still make my flesh crawl -- especially the ending...

I left out a lot of films.

You just gotta find them, there are plenty. Saw 1 was good, Session 9 was great and so was the Mashinist.

Alien

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

The Exorcist

28 Days Later

The Ring

The Thing

Evil Dead 2

Clockwork Orange (though not a true horror movie, it was a disturbing depiction of a dystopia)

I can't think of really any others.

Which body snatchers did you like the most? I think the 70s version is the best, the 50s version is really good too. The 90s version was pretty mediorce and the recent 2007 remake was just terrible.

Of course the one with Spock, Donald Sutherland and Jeff Goldbloom.

I disagree. I thought that The Fly was the scariest sort of movie there is, because it deals with the kinds of stuff that everyone goes through.

First off Vinnie is my HERO. (Anyone seen The Offspring) Second, I honestly hated the original Halloween. I bored me to tears. But to each their own.

Fly. NO CONTEST

Agreeed.

I love the Thing, but it's a pretty standard if extremely effective monster movie.

The Fly is SO much more. The Fly is not only a gross monster movie, it is also a brilliant and touching serious film about love and death.

The Thing is great, but The Fly is a ****ing masterpiece. It remains to this day one of the most affecting and tragic movies I have ever seen in my life, and it covers ground that we all fear in our hearts and will one day have to face.

The Thing is great, but the Fly is always going to be relevant. Its themes are timeless, and actually apply to real life.

It's tough for me, I think they are both great. Effects wise they are pretty much equal and everything about each movie is great. The Thing to me is only slightly better to me because the idea of it is disturbing yet brilliant. Also Kurt Russell is in it.

You should check out Dead Ringers, thats another great Cronenberg film. Eyes without a face, Session 9, A Stir of echoes, the devils backbone, Martin, Jacobs Ladder,Angel Heart, Ginger Snaps and Frailty for some more horror gems.
