Yea...between my health insurance going up (get mine through work) and tax increases, it's not pretty.

seems we are alos going through tax raises in Japan. I heard it has something to do with the disaster recovery from the earthquake.

Whatever the reason is, knwoing about it is not going to change the fact that the tax has increased.

I will just make do with what I have, while also looking to find better jobs and acquiring skills to keep landing me more jobs.

I've been on a pay freeze for 5 years, dealt with state-mandated furloughs (a 3% paycut), and increase in health insurance and pension contributions, and none of it had to do with the Federal Government. This is small potatoes in comparison.

In addition, you cannot put this solely on Obama. He's just one of the parties that is involved in the clusterfvuck that is our Congress and it's negotioations. The large blame goes on the House and John Boehner, who has absolutely no control over his caucus.

Scapegoat and bandwagon effect.

Obama is part of it, but it's a long way from him being the only cause. Personal sacrifices were going to be unavoidable no matter who took office, if not taxes, then increase to the price of healthcare, or deep cuts to social welfare, something was going to happen people didn't like. It's just what happens when you live in a country with economic problems.

I really want to weigh in on this, but I know if I do it'll piss me off, so I'm going to refrain and just point out the fact that the US government is clueless, and we need to kick them all out and start over.cell_dweller

I just got my first paycheck of the year and after a 3% raise I am still taking home less money than last year because of the social security tax. Thanks Federal Government for taking an extra $150 a month from a lower middle class familiy. F*cking assh*les. How hard were you hit?DaBrainz

bush cuts= gov was taking less for X amount of time once bush cuts expired. the tax percent returned to normal

Americans pay such little tax as it is. I consider myself Conservative (Canadian) but the conservatives of the US make me sick
