That was place was just creepy. Men on the internet talking about which girls they fap to and sharing fantasies.
The only thing OTAH was really good for was providing fap material via the "Hot Ladies" thread to people who had porn sites blocked on their computers. Almost all of the other threads just made me frown and shake my head, especially the one giving tips on how to bust bigger loads...

I feel sorry for anyone who's in shortage of fap material because of ISP filters. Its as easy as it gets to bypass those.
As a general rule, GS should bring back anything that would generate even a tiny bit of traffic and activity in the forums. OT is dead as ****.
OTAH slowed OT down a bit.....as dead as it is now....what do you think it would do now?

That statement was more directed to the teens who's parents blocked the websites via programs that don't want to risk getting in trouble being caught trying to override. ISP blocks aren't hard to get around; I had a VPN on my laptop and iPad I could have used to get past the porn block we had when I was in Afghanistan a few months ago (it's illegal to view or possess porn over there). Although it was more for using US-only sites like Netflix or Pandora than for looking at boobs.
I thought the board was interesting.
I guess if you like reading how virgins fantasize....
OTAH was a novelty that wore off quickly, in my opinion. There's multitude of websites and forums outside of GameSpot that are better accustomed to the type of discussions that were occurring on the board, so I wouldn't see it as a considerable loss if it didn't return. I'm pretty much indifferent, since it's not a place I'd be regularly visiting.
@ad1x2: I'm curious, where you in Afghanistan as a U.S army personnel? If so, how come you had to use afghai ISP? Wouldn't that compromise confidentiality and possibly undermine deployed forces?
Id imagine that the U.S army uses some kind of sattelite Internet or any other secure Internet access
OTAH was the chillest part of GS. It was a cool place where you could just talk about sex related stuff. Bring it back GS!!

Agreed.
Wouldn't make sense since System Wars is the only board that seems to still has some decent traffic, and After Hours wasn't too hot traffic wise before the change either.

Well at least we agree on one thing. :p

lol We tend to agree on most things.
OTAH was actually one of the more active boards.
yes they should bring it back, and probly will eventually.
As for the whole "it slowed down OT" i highly doubt that. most of OT didnt even know about it. and most of the ones who did know about it, didnt like it. dont see how it could slow OT down. its just a seperate board like System Wars. the lack of members posting in OT is what slowed OT down. not OTAH. not to mention OTAH was pretty damn slow.

That was hilarious. Fightingfan is an awesome poster, never know what crazy thing he'll say next.

Hey you gotta provide for your girl right? :P
If this was my company there would be several people out of a job for this steaming pile of what used to be a good website. OTAH should be the least of their worries...

Anything that is classified goes through secure government connections such as the SIPRnet or JWICS. You are encouraged to use a government satellite connection to transmit anything that is "For Official Use Only" (formally "sensitive but unclassified") because while unclassified goes through the normal internet it's a little harder to hack government satellites than some average connection.
While we had taxpayer-provided wifi hotspots around the base if you wanted internet in your sleeping area you could pay about a hundred bucks a month for 512kbps ripoff internet from a company called Sniper Hill or you can use a cell phone with a Afghan SIM for $20 a month and tether it to your computer via USB or Mifi.
Obviously you have to be smart with what you do on there while using the Afghan connection. The connection was filtered to block porn and anything that was considered anti-Muslim (Youtube was blocked for almost three months after the "Innocence of Muslims" video went viral). Sending something you don't want anybody to see without a VPN wasn't the best idea in the world.

It wasn't about pleasing women during sex. It was about seeing how far you can get your load to go when you finish jerking off, like it was some type of Olympic event.
