Saudi Arabia Bans Dogs and Cats

Apparantly men make passes at women while walking their pets, and social interaction like that can only lead to sex, which is bad.

According to the article, some are quite disgruntled, but it's not that bad. Most middle/lower class Saudis don't have pets but it's becoming popular with the upper class.

May be for a stupid reason, but whatever. It's not like anyone has a basic human right to own dogs and cats. If you want a pet that badly, get a pet that's not banned.

Hell, even in the USA, there are states where it's illegal to own "exotic pets" such as snakes and frogs. Any good reason for the bans? Not really, but it's not exactly a big freaking deal.
