When Nana gets dismembered by Lucy in Elfen Lied.Deihjan
 you did that on purpose!
and, so it doesn't seem like I'm copying anyone... the ending to Ruroni Kenshin. Where Kenshin becomes so messed up from disease he doesn't even recognize his own wife, then dies. =(
The anime Blue Gender probably has the most depressing scene you will ever watch. A little girl basically just gets mowed down by one of the giant insect things while the main character watches (I forgot his name...Yuji?) as he can do nothing but watch her die. I would link the scene but there's a lot of blood, violence, and body parts. It's possible to find somewhere on the internet. Depressing as hell.

The ending to the anime series was terrible beyond reason... movies weren't bad though, imo.
Quite sad to see how he went out...
Probably either in Cowboy Bebop when
Spike dies in the end
or in Grave of the Fireflies when
Seita is burning Setsuko's remains
.

It didn't have an ending, that's why. Practically none of the story was actually wrapped up. >_>
What a disappointing "ending"; Kenshin, after being hugged by Kaoru, gives her a sea shell, and then goes back Tokyo with her. >_>It didn't have an ending, that's why. Practically none of the story was actually wrapped up. >_>

Definitely read the manga then. The ending wraps everything up nicely.
I even shed a few manly tears. 8)

Already read the manga, loved it, it's currently my favorite manga. The Enishi/Tomoe arc and the ending are great.

I saw movies, because I bought the DVD that kinda.. edited things together to make them more 'movie like' but, they're more like OAV's.

We were talking about Elfen Lied weren't we? :? I'm confused. :PI failed at reading and thought we were talking about the end of the EL anime and not the RK anime.

Anyway, good to hear EL wraps up well in the manga. I'll definitely have to read it then.
The end of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.Theokhoth
dude.. YES.. Omfg.. I barely watch any anime and I just bought that movie for my friend for his birthday kind of as a joke because I thought the name was silly.. and we watched it and we were like hugging each other crying by the end
Phantom-Requiem for the Phantom i felt really sad when i saw how cal turned for an innocent girl to a obssessed maniac, and the final scene in the final episode,it caught me off gaurd.
What's the saddest scene you've ever seen in an anime? I'd have to say the death of the Merry Go. One Piece has a lot of tragic plotlines, but that one was really sad. Also when Hughes died in FMA was pretty sad, though still not as bad as the Merry...
Any others???

Don't recall it being very depressing...By the way has anyone heard of the anime" now and then, here and their"? It was a bit depressing.
Nearing the end of Trigun, in which Wolfwood encounters his old master and
gets into a massively epic double machine gun battle with him, kills him off but dies in the church from the injuries, much to the dismay of milly
ghoklebutterI thought the part where
Vash retells his life story to Meryll in a dramatic way was sadder
ah yes. that is quite depressing as well

A lot of scenes in Clannad After Story. T_TghoklebutterExactly what I was gonna say. Which part do you think was the saddest? I cried my eyes out when...
Nagisa died. D:
Yes, yes, yes, no doubt this is the correct answer for me, this is the only Anime, hell, the only TV show that had made me shed a tear, those scenes were too damn touching.
Also chapter 16 was very sad.
Full metal alchemist:When Maes Hughes was killed.Man I remember the part with the Funerealand his daughter was crying asking her mom why they were burying him.
more votes for the ending of "Air" and lots of places in "Clannad After story"
Oh man those were heart wrenching, partly because both those series were so much better at expressing emotions then most real actors would be able to.
Episode 7 of Full Metal Alchemist.
It turns out this guy the Elrics were investigating had used his wife and then his daughter in alchemy experiments and had turned them into these talking Chimera's.
Ed almost kills the man but the mans daughter (now a Chimera) stops him from doing so.
The real sad part is the end of the episode where you see this smear of blood on the wall which is the remains of that mans daughter after the man "Scar" had destroyed her for being an abomination....
It is alot worse when you get to see the episode and see the little girl in flashbacks....
When Tomoya was on the trip with Ushio and she told him that Sanae taught her she can only cry in two places: The toilet and "in daddy's arms".freek666Scratch that; this is my answer. T^T
i think i would find it hard to find any cartoon properly emotional.
jpph
The thing with Anime is that they create perfect characters, either too good or to cute and then, disgrace hits them (Fuko in Clannad) when you are attached to this characters, causing you to feel emotions, it is a cheap tactic? yeah sure, but who cares, the series are good.
