Has the US already shared the so called evidence that they claim they have?

[QUOTE="michaelP4"][QUOTE="EJ902"]Regardless of the truth I don't want to see my country (uk) get involved. I don't see why it is our business or what we would stand to gain. Given that our armed forces are overstretched it seems foolish to wrap them up in another engagement. Honestly the more this conflict goes on, the more I think what's best for the syrian people is a return to stability under assad. Now that he's spent years shooting his own people though I don't see that happening. Especially if he has used chemical weapons.deeliman
I didn't know you were British - your sig and avatar says otherwise. :P But yes, I fear for the Tories on this. If they mess up, UKIP will have a field day at the next election... and we all know that means Labour will get in. Please Prime Minister, don't make the same mistake Blair made.

Lol, imagine the damage done to British international relations if UKIP ever get's elected.

Thankfully they haven't a chance. But Labour does. :o

Indeed, were lucky that all the righting European nut jobs are slowly losing popularity, from British UKIP to Dutch PVV. I'm not very familiar with the labour party though, are they like a toned down version of UKIP?

Assad has already shown himself to be ruthless in killing his own people but I don't understand why they would use chemical weapons knowing the consequences. EJ902
This. It doesn't make any sense. He's already slaughtering the rebels with conventional weapons, he has no need to gas civilians and bring the UN on his ass.

It was also odd that the gas was watered down. When Saddam used gas on his own people the footage was horrowing; entire neighborhoods were ghost towns with bodies just lying wherever they were stood when the gas hit.

Do you believe the Syrian govt was behind the chemical attacks or do you think it could have been the rebals like Russia thinks.

EYE-OF-HORUS999
My thought is 100% either rebels or rebel-minded forces in assads army i just cant believe that Assad is either that stupid or doesnt have control over his generals. Also look at the spot where it happened, Close to where the un-delegation was based, it just seems way way to convenient for the rebels that Assad should wait until that moment to do it.

The US claims to have overwhelming evidence against assad though, so we'll just have to wait and see if it's really as credible as they say it is.

Why hasn't the US revealed this evidence yet?

How much longer must we wait for them to finish manufacturing it?

[QUOTE="deeliman"][QUOTE="Jacanuk"] It is strange, but I don't think the US would lie about that since they want the help of NATO nations. It is strange, but why would the US lie about it especially if they want the support of NATO?

[QUOTE="one_plum"]

[QUOTE="Vaultboy-101"]

I've seen quite a few Russian journalists over there.

Stesilaus

It makes sense. Russian journalists would probably be biased towards Assad while Western journalists would more likely be biased against him.

Russian journalists would probably be biased towards the truth, while Western journalists would more likely be biased against it.
