"A lick on my lips and a grip on your hips" Try some Smashing Pumpkins and Placebo.Sick Puppies.
Don't let their name fool you, they have some real good stuff. I like that they have a lot of heavier songs, but they also come out and show that their vocalist can sing. Oh yeah, their bassist is amazing, and HOT (She's a girl)!
10 years, 30 seconds to mars, old 3 doors down. all I can reccommend that hasnt already been recommended

Those homos? Please
Try Kazzer, my favourite... Also Blur, Shiny Toy Guns and if you like classics - Red hot Chili Peppers. If you like it harder, try Borialis and Limp Bizkit :)

solid_mario
They're both terrible, and they're both nu-metal, not alternative rock.

Limp Bizkit is leaps and bounds better than Linkin Park...
Anyways, I recommend Deftones, A Perfect Circle/Ashes Divide, or Saliva
Very good choice, shame Ashes Divide have only one album. :(

I'd be happy for APC to do another album, I love Maynard's voice. I don't think they could beat Thirteenth Step though, that album is amazing.

Beck
I would have said Beck, if he didn't change genres on every album.
I respect the man for being able to do whatever he wants to do. He does not seem to be bound by anything but his own creativity, imo.The Cure, Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins. Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, The Clash, Social Distortion, Nine Inch Nails, Mogwai.....
Three days grace and Breaking benjamin,if they count as Alternative Rock :)mhh91Those bands are actually more alternative metal and post-grunge, and both are good bands, imo.
