OT- Is Minecraft still a Popular Demand ?

Wasn't pushing it into a gaming discussion, but more of an OT discussion due to Microsoft purchasing it. We haven't heard much from Mojang since the rights were sold to Microsoft. Will they make a sequel or will they continue updating it and adding new things similar to PC's ?
