Looking good so far. Great to see this universe again, gives me chills.

I think this is the time when I should avoid all news related stuff from the Hobbit until the movie launches.
Ah, sorry to get your hopes up! I just saw these earlier for the first time :PYou got my hopes up when you said "new"! These have been out a while. However, seeing them again just reinvigorates my anticipation for this movie! It seems to be on the right track.

It really bugs me because I always imagined bilbo to be like a 40 year old man. And this just looks so wrong to me. Do you guys think this is the way tolkien intended it to be ?dkdk999If I remember reading back to the fellowship, people look younger then they are. The average hobbit life expectancy is around 110, I believe, and the coming of age is 33 (ours is roughly 18-21), so take that into consideration also.

We could speculate on and on about what Tolkien intended, but the fact is he himself sold the film rights to those two books 40 years or so ago. He had to have realized that any potential films made wouldn't necessarily reflect his intention in many details.
I can't wait. I hope The Hobbit is just as epic as The Lord of the Rings. :oops:Hexagon_777
Not me. I hope it's more whimsical, like the text. I loved the LOTR movie trilogy. It captured the scale of the conflict for me. But there was something more magical that was wanting in the translation to film.
