Kind of a weird topic, but wanted to see what combinations people can come up with in terms of singers or lead singers that sound similar vocally.

mine are:

Sondre Lerche (performed music in the Dan In Real Life soundtrack as well as other wonderful music)

Colin Meloy (lead singer from The Decemberists)

Gordon Gano (lead singer from The Violent Femmes).

Your thoughts?

So true. Whenever I flip by Much Music (Canadian MTV) I hurt my head trying to comprehend how people like this music.

Depending on the song, Led Zeppelin and Guns 'n' Roses can sound somewhat similar.

T-Pain and Ray Lavendar sound very similar :? I miss the good ol days when singing was about how good your voice was, not how well you can alter it :(

Yes, but Tom Smith and Paul Banks very much emulated his style of singing to some extent.

I can think of two. Tom Delonge (Blink-182) Deryck Whibley (Sum 41) The first time I heard the song "Walking Disaster", I thought it was Tom Delonge singing.

The Cure

Placebo

Joy Division

Iszdope

Defiinitely not.

I mean, I can kind of see The Cure/Joy Division comparison (just because they are close in terms of era), tho I don't agree with it.

But Placebo?

Don't see it at all.

How do Jeniffer Lopez and Beyonce sound even remotely similar? Beyonce's voice is so much deeper than Jeniffer Lopez.

I don't like either of their music, but Beyonce has a beautiful voice. Can't say the same for J-Lo.
