Poll Mens: what physical attribute that womens have turns you off the most? (38 votes)

Obesity 32%
Bad grooming (unkempt nails and hair, unshaven legs, etc.) 11%
Terrible fashion sense (wrinkled clothes that don’t fit, outdated style, doesn’t dress feminine, etc.) 0%
Tryhard LOOK AT MEEEE! fashion sense (expensive handbags and shoes, everything has a designer label, outlandish fashion, etc.) 0%
Too adorned (too much makeup or perfume, too much jewelry, etc.) 5%
Excessive piercings and tattoos (sleeves, neck tats, tramp stamp, facial piercings, etc.) 21%
Obvious plastic surgery (bobs, lip filler, Botox, etc.) 16%
Tight low cut revealing validation seeking clothing 3%
Looks haughty/snooty/unapproachable 5%
Other 8%

If you were out with the guys and checking out the womens, without speaking to them and just going by initial impression, which of the attributes in the poll turns you off the most?

All are turnoffs to varying degrees but for me, it’s obesity. I won’t approach or consider a dating relationship with an overweight woman. It doesn’t mean I despise them or that they should be belittled, but thin physically fit womens are my preference.

Before I get banned or cancelled, I have seen and heard womens laugh at and make fun of obese mens especially when they get approached by one. So my preference runs parallel to and is just as valid as theirs.

it depends for what. I assume you mean only for sexual attraction and not as a person in general.

For me, I am the same. I keep myself fit and have only dated women that also keep themselves fit. I have nothing against women that don't, but I am not really attracted to them.

Also, for a while there were some women that though they not shaving their armpits was a feminist statement. More power to them, and I have not had any problems being friends with women like that. But it's certainly not my preference for dating.

Bad hygiene and too many tattoos I also don't like, but it's rather uncommon where I live .

I fact, all of those characteristics are uncommon in Asia.

There are a couple of things on that list that I would choose, but the top one for sure is the skimpy clothing. Clothing like that is strictly for lust, not beauty. Woman who dress modestly are a lot more attractive to me; genuine beauty. Of course If I'm also walking around with revealing clothing, like a tank top since I'm muscular, then I'm no different than the woman dressing to seduce. I've been wearing a vest lately so as to not inflate my ego or cause a woman to lust.

Goth's and Japanese are my kryptonite.

I would like to impart a useless musing.

It is socially acceptable and even encouraged for society to tell mens to get a great education to get a high salary job or to lose weight and go to the gym if they want to attract beautiful womens (no problem with that whatsoever, if mens want a 10, they gots to be a 10, attractive womens don’t date down, they date up because they have tons of options).

But any time wonens are suggested to even slightly improve themselves (i.e., don’t get so many tats, forgo the face piercings, dress more modestly, go to the gym and lose weight, et. al.), the person doing the suggesting would get annihilated by the outrage police (especially if it’s a mens suggesting).

Ladies, the rule applies to you all too (equality): if you want a 10, you gots to be a 10 because tall, handsome, cultured, physically fit mens with educations and high salaries are in high demand and they don’t date down.

Excessive amounts of make-up and insecurities. I like girls that are comfortable in their own skin. I don't like it when a girl is so insecure that she can't walk the dog without putting on make-up.

Obvious plastic surgery. Something inside me turns when I see women with gargantuan, distended pornstar lips or bolt-on breasts. Like willing victims of a tragic practical joke. It's not erotic, just depressing.

@GalvatronType_R: my rule, is that if I think a woman would be much more attractive and happier in life if she ate healthy and exercise is: NEVER tell it to her.

Though I actually don't tell that to my male friends either, unless they are very good friends. And usually it's less direct like "want to come to the gym with me next week?" Or will just discuss functional eating and how it applies to me and underhandedly inform them of how to eat healthy.

With women I will just tell them: I am happy you are happy. Unless they are already fellow gym rats and then we can nerd together on hypertrophy and functional eating.

There are two cultural undercurrents in regards to this topic, men think you are helping them, women think you are attacking them, so you have to be flexible in the way you communicate.

Bad grooming. B.O. especially.

A chick that doesn't keep up with herself is unattractive.

I don't care if she's super fit and athletic if she got stinky hairy armpits, doesn't brush her teeth, nails look jacked up, hair a mess.

I'll talk to a girl 20 pounds over weight who takes good care of her upkeep over an athletic chick who stinks and doesn't groom well everytime

Bad hygiene, forget about it. That's valid to anyone friend or foe, male or female. Get the **** out of my face. 🤮

Obesity for sure. I'm don't hate fat people but I'm not going to lie and say I respect them the same way I do someone who takes care of themselves. I wouldn't even know how to have satisfactory sex with someone with the agility and endurance of a beached whale.

Too much make up, contextually. Are you in a black metal gig looking like the bride of Satan? That's fine, great even. Are you in a rave with florescent eyeliner, fantastic. Are you going to work/gym/beach looking like a clown? No thanks.

Edit: is there a valid reason to direct this thread to men only?

Obvious body alterations, such as plastic under skin or poison injected in lips. There are many who don't think they are as good looking naturally as I do, and decide to put plastic in their bodies, which always looks completely fucked up to me. Makes me feel a bit sad, or think about how little in common I have with them.

@nirgal: my precise point.

You can be more direct with mens about self improvement, i.e., if they want to get more womens, they need to lose weight and work harder to get higher paying jobs. Society has taught mens to take constructive criticism.

But womens have been told they are so special from birth and any mere tiny suggestion for self improvement, i.e., wear less makeup, lose weight, dress modestly, forgo the plastic surgery, is met with threats and accusations.

Mens are taught accountability. Womens are taught deflection and denial.

@GalvatronType_R: it depends on the woman. A lot of women are not like that, but currently media and culture push for that way of seeing constructive criticism.

You think people don't say these things to women? Maybe you will get some shit if they do it publicly, but these are all things people tell women in private all the time.

Let me editorialize for a bit here. This is for the womens (despite this being a mens targeted poll).

I have posted several times that male obesity is absolutely repulsive to womens. A fat slob with no future prospects ain’t getting a Victoria’s Secret model (unless he’s a millionaire). Being obese for mens disqualifies them from a wide swath of womens.

However there is a standard for womens too (equality). Womens who have tats and piercings everywhere, is superficial and materialistic (i.e., all designer brands), has obvious plastic surgery, doesn’t keep up with her hygiene and isn’t feminine, and wears tight revealing trashy clothing disqualifies them from a wide swath of mens.

Just as beautiful desirable womens have options, so do tall, handsome, physically fit, and high earning mens. Both have their pick of partners and generally don’t settle. So mens are told to improve themselves all the time, so should womens.

@GalvatronType_R: About the tattoos, unless you're talking face tattoos, your opinion is very outdated. Or you're mixing personal taste with general perception.

@kathaariancode: It depends, if they have a tattoo or two most guys won't mind. If they are covered in tattoos, at least I think they look tacky and not feminine.

I am not sure if people in developed countries are ok with a woman almost fully covered in tattoos, but I can guarantee most guys from non developed countries will not accept it, even very young guys.

@nirgal: I'm not saying fully or nearly fully covered, but big tattoos are in fashion. At least here where I live, specially among wealthy and fit women (and men) from 20 to 50yo I've been noticing this trend growing. I personally love it, there's some really beautiful works. (We're talking works that cost a lot of money.)

Find it sexy too if I'm being honest. Seeing a beautiful healthy body carrying a nice art work with confidence makes me happy. Specially in those executive type women late 30s to early 50s, yummy!

In underdeveloped countries, yeah sure. In many places women can barely show their hair.

@kathaariancode: I don't know, for me it puts me off a lot. I find a degree of innocence (even if illusory) to be attractive. Too many tattoos and I feel like I am dating a truck driver. Nothing against them, but not my cup of tea

Ps: I think you are underestimating the clothing choices and freedoms women have in most non developed countries. It's not all conservative Muslim countries.

@nirgal: No I'm not, I've worked and managed many women from underdeveloped countries and I'm aware the kind of issues that made them get away from their countries and often followed them all the way into their new lives.

Well, everyone has their own personal taste but there's nothing trucker like in a beautiful work that costed you a thousand+. Though I can see what you're saying, my sister tattooed some family names along with some art on a cheap place and it looks like it was done by an apprentice chimpanzee. I cannot look at it without having an internal laugh.

Bad hygiene is an automatic no. I love and savor a woman’s natural BO, but only fresh out of the shower, a day at most. Natural aphrodisiac, but it certainly has a shelf life.

Tattoos are a major turn-off. A woman’s skin is one of her most beautiful aspects, and having its flow broken up into a canvas for graffiti, even if well done, IMO, robs a female of her natural beauty. Good looking women absolutely glow with nice, unblemished skin. Don’t get me started on tramp stamps, which destroys the small of her back. Just….NO….leave the skin alone.

No hips. Can’t blame those who don’t have them, but the hips and pelvis epitomizes femininity for me. There’s nothing more beautiful than that little pelvic incline and gap.

There is a selection bias there.

Bad b.o. is pretty bad, I feel that most women don’t have that problem as the majority of women take pretty good care of themselves in that regard. Covered in tattoos is a sexual turn off, especially in the face and legs. A lack of dental hygiene is unattractive as well. Black teeth, crooked teeth or yellow would make a cute chick look ugly.

Here’s the bottom line. Mens want feminine womens, womens want masculine mens.

Tattoos on a womens is masculine. So is excessive swearing, drinking beer or alcohol in excess, being loud and obnoxious, etc. I want a feminine womens not a sailor. Just like a mens who checks himself out in every reflective surface or spends too much time getting ready or likes to shop for clothes too much are feminine traits and will turn off most womens.

Teeth. It’s always the teeth. You can be heavy, average looking, etc, but if you have bad teeth, it’s game over.

Tattoos make you look trashy and tell me you make horrible decisions.

@nirgal: I can’t be friends with a masculine womens. I’ve known several of them, they are invariably loud and obnoxious, and there are times where I wish they would just shut the he|| up.

I once met a womens who acted like a mens and I thought that I could never bring her to a work or social event because due to her complete lack of self awareness, she would likely do or say something that would embarrass the he|| out of me.

So no masculine womens for me. It’s not insecurity, it’s personal preference.

I resurrected this thread to impart a story.

I went on a date last weekend with a woman who has tats. I knew she had forearm ink but during the date, she also showed me a thigh tat and a back tat. Correlated to this, she acted in a very masculine non-feminine way, she was loud and obnoxious, talked too much, used swear words, etc. I felt like I was on a date with a Sons of Anarchy background extra, not a regular woman.

Lesson learned: books can be judged by their covers. Masculinity on a woman is easy to spot, I want and prefer a feminine woman.

Bad body odor is number 1. If we're talking physical, complete body mutilation is a complete turn off. I'm talking piercings and tattoo's all over the body, especially the face. I don't mind a little bit of ink or bling, but if it just dominates the the body, that would definitely turn me off...

One more resurrection. Because there is a lesson here for all mens.

I told tat girl that I don't see a lot of future potential and friendzoned her. She insisted on wanting to know why. I kept it real and told her that I don't like her ink, inked women usually have unproductive personality traits (as mentioned: masculinity, loud obnoxious boorish behavior, vocabulary full of swear words, lack of long term planning and critical thinking, always must have the last word, doesn't know when to shut up, likelihood of promiscuity). She proceeded to yell that I'm insecure, I'm a woman hater and that I cannot "handle" a woman like her. I told her that myself and most men do not want a woman that must be handled, we want girlfriends not circus animals. I then blocked her.

The lesson is that most women are not used to hearing what men truly think (because most men are scared of being called misogynists or men just want some secksay time and don't want to screw up their chances). Women prefer comfortable lies rather than brutal truths so get ready for an explosion when calling out a woman on her lack of self awareness. Not gonna lie, it actually felt really good to tell her the unvarnished truth, it didn't seem like any man has ever done that to her ever.
