Ah yes, cannabis, affectionately known as weed, herb, pot, ganja, sensi, and marijooowanna. What is your opinion on this little marvel of nature?

Let me say, I do not condone most drugs. Substances like heroin, amphetamines, opiates, prescription pills, meth, cocaine, ketamine, and yes, alcohol and cigarettes, are all extremely, extremely detrimental to your health. I'm the first one to tell you not to do any of these.

However, I feel that weed is different. No, not because "it's a plant and it comes from the earth so it's good for you", that's a stupid excuse that halfwits use without considering the fact that heroin and tobacco also come from plants. No, weed is different because quite frankly, it just acts nothing like any other drug.

I feel like pot is truly the only drug which actually improves your life. Pot seems to treat a variety of illnesses in a remarkable number of ways. It takes away your pain, both physical and mental, and, as Bob Marley said, it reveals you to yourself. It even helps curb the effects of cigarette smoke and purifies the air. In fact, pot, when grown, even saps radiation and pollution from the ground and air, and recycles it. Pot is really our best ally, yet we treat it like an enemy. People say it "builds dependence" and "makes you lazy", but frankly, if you become dependent on pot, you'd probably become dependent on ice cream, shoplifting, driving too fast, or doing anything else that gives you a good feeling. It's about being an adult and maturely using what nature provides to us.

What's your opinion?

I think pot is addictive. It may not had harmful physical effects but it can make you less motivated and it can be dangerous if people drive high. I don't like pot or alcohol. if they are going to make it legal it should have a very very high tax rate.

Why should it be taxed high?

@inb4uall:

As I said before, why should pot be discriminated against simply because it is "addictive"? Anything can be addictive, including cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, porno- literally anything. If you can't be mature about it and it actually has a significant impact on your life, then don't do it. Besides, it's all about the strains anyway. A good sativa always brings me up and makes me feel motivated and happy. To each their own.

Marijuana killed my dog and burned down my house. I live in Colorado and Marijuana becoming legal was the worst thing that ever happened. It's like a battle zone out side with crazed high people running around killing each other. I haven't been able to leave my house since mid January because its become so dangerous with all the crime surrounding Marijuana. Even worse is all the kids lost motivation to study and dropped out because Marijuana being legalized forced them to try it in school unlike how it was before where kids never did drugs.

I'm more partial to Gwen Stacy personally. Was never a huge fan of Mary Jane and I didn't particularly like Kristen Dunst's performance in the Spiderman trilogy.

Something that most assuredly should be legal for medicinal use (and prescribed significantly more for people who need painkillers) and at the very least should be decriminalized for recreational use. Ideally, THC and hemp varieties would be huge money-making crops in North America, the active ingredient be completely legal, and everyone who wants to use it is able to and be provided with high quality, and safe product.

Pot CAN ruin lives, I got a few friends that overspending on pot because they can't stand to be sober for a day, therefore it can be addictive. Some people said that marijuana is not addictive is absurd. I would say it's depend on individual. I was addicted to pot, so I got some experience to see how pot can ruin people's lives. It's all about self-control. Based on my experience, high is safer than drunk while driving, that's a good thing I guess. Also there are some study prove that marijuana can mess up with young's brain development under 21 or 22 years old. Marijuana can be used for good but many people will abuse it anyway.

If the addictiveness of pot depends not on pot itself but the individual then by necessity it's not the pot that is addictive. There's a huge difference between an addictive substance and an addictive personality.

I wouldn't compare heroin and tobacco with some pure weed. They use gas and lord knows what else when making heroin and cigarettes get a heavy chemical treatment too.

It's a gift from god.No plant on earth is as versatile.

Marijuana will be fully legal in at least 20 states by 2020 I bet.

I stopped reading right there. Heroin is made from a plant, but is not natural, weed is. You do not alter weed. Tobacco isn't the issue, it is the chemicals used it in that is the issue. Only a halfwit would try to compare weed to heroin and tobacco in this way.

@AmazonTreeBoa: Lol....... Right, so a refined form of a completely natural substance is not natural, but chopping down a plant, drying and curing it, putting it in a pipe and using a lighter to smoke it, is somehow more natural. I'm about the biggest fan of the ganj there is, but you're a dumb shit if you think heroin is somehow less natural than pot. It comes from opium poppies. They don't chemically alter it or make it different from how it was originally, they simply concentrate the desired chemicals into a purer form. Or, are you also going to say that wax or oil is now unnatural as well because it is refined, concentrated THC? Also, sorry to burst your bubble buddy, but people have been smoking Tobacco long before the advent of pesticides or any other compounds, and guess what? It was still giving people cancer then, and it's still giving people cancer now. It's just worse in modern times. Please, don't try to be smart, it isn't a good fit for you.

PS: Go try and smoke some natural, untouched hemlock leaves there buddy, I'm sure it'll work out great for you.

Beyond medical use? It's immature, a waste of money, and I consider you a loser if you're a pot head. Using a substance to make you feel good isn't good. I kind of put it in the same category as alcohol in terms of legality. If you smoke it, eh, whatever, but keep it private.

Considering the number of successful people in the world that have or are currently involved in the recreational use of it (people including President Obama, Bush and Clinton), I don't doubt it was pretty much entirely his own fault, and not related to the drug itself. Marijuana, much like alcohol, exemplifies people's particular traits. Those who are lazy do-nothings will only become even bigger lazy do-nothings on pot.

@Master_Live: I kind of put pot in the same category as drinking. Those people who drink too much or smoke too much just lead to poor decision making. I also don't like feeling out of control of what I'm doing, so it's not really my bag. Like I said before, if you smoke pot or drink in a party setting, that's whatever to me. But those people who do it too much just don't sit right with me. It looks like a lack of confidence, or a reliance on perception-fucking to be yourself. Not very cool, if you ask me.

Recreational use for the sake of enhancement, and addictive use, for the sake of fulfilling an addiction (not that THC is physically addictive) are two entirely different things, and you seem incapable of seeing the difference.

Sounds like you have a very biased view of weed, and a regular Archie Bunker. Living in Seattle, most people I know smoke it. Just about all of the most successful people I know personally (people who own a lot of property all over) use it regularly, and the most successful couple I know keep a giant jar of it in their bathroom. There are losers who use it too, sure. I know plenty of losers that don't use drugs at all - it really just comes down to the person.

use to smoke all the time. started making me paranoid. don't smoke anymore. but pot should definitely be legal. people have no stigma surronding alcohol which just doesn't make sense. and weed was made illegal in a large part due to racism and the hemp industry. but weed isn't for everyone. if you wanna smoke weed smoke weed. just don't go around telling other people not to because you look like a jackass.
