Macabre but Fascinating: Mummified WWI Soldier Found in Alps

During WWI, the "Dolomites" mountain range of the alps was the scene of fierce fighting between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarians.

In August this year---almost a century after the battles were fought---an amateur historian seeking WWI artifacts came upon a grisly discovery: the shattered, mummified remains of a soldier who died a very violent death ... :o

The gruesome discovery was made near this picturesque ski resort.

Imagine wiping out on the slopes and landing face-first in that puddle. It would have spoiled somebody's expensive holiday, for sure. :(
