Okay I wasn't convince later on how this new Fantastic 4 will fair better then the last 2 movies but now, I'm way more interested seeing this new F4 version then the actual comic. Well 20th Century Fox, I'm sold now.

THIS SUMMER... THE EVENT OF THE CENTURY.... PREPARE YOURSELF....
Dramatic music, everyone spouting the same prophetic style lines.
Bladebladebla.
Looks like it could be better than the other 2 crappy movies. So was Johnny Storm adopted in this one, or are him and Sue no longer brother and sister?
@davillain-: You just like it because Human Torch is black! (Just teasing, I know your opinion on that =P)
Seriously though, the effects look a bit weak, but they might not be the final version and Doom's powers seem severely overblown; I'll watch it at home eventually =)

I think he is adopted.

In the trailer, Johnny and Sue's Dad is black and from what this is heading, Johnny is black so looks like Sue was adopted.

Err I'm still not sold on Johnny being black and this is coming from a guy who's been reading Fantastic 4 comics during my childhood but however, I'm still interested on how this turns out. The CGI stuff looks cool and that's what got me sold on this new Fantastic 4.
@davillain-: Yeah, I know, that's why I was teasing you. It doesn't make much difference to me, although I'd rather see more new non-male non-white characters (created that way) than just "let's turn this one black, or this one a woman". If one day they decide there's too many black characters are they going to turn Blade Asian?
Not excited, mostly because it doesn't look good.
I'm a huge superhero fan, and I'm getting tired of all the superhero movies.

Thoughts on new HR Derby format?
I don't watch the HR Derby. Last might have been the McGuire one in Boston. But have seen good feedback on the format, with the timer and the head-to-head matchups. Frankly, all I hope is that guys on my team don't participate so they don't get injured or mess their swing, no upside.

I believe it's because the director Josh Trank wanted him in the movie as they worked on Chronicle together. That's my theory ,anyway.
As someone who has been a big fan of the Fantastic Four since the early '70s I can say that my interest is definitely piqued by the new trailer, something of a big upswing from the early rumblings of the characters involved in the film which made is seem like a massive train wreck of a film. I didn't have any initial problems with Johnny being changed to black other than the fact that his sister was white which, for Hollywood, would typically make him an adopted character which is a pretty tired cliche. Happily they seemed to have dealt with it rather well by making Sue adopted. I would rather have them both black, but since I know Sue was already cast and Johnny cast last they did what they could...though I would probably have made the parents be a mixed race couple.
Other than those minor issues it looks a bit interesting at least. Not happy with ANOTHER DAMN ORIGIN take on the team, but really all my concerns are on how Dr. Doom is presented, and since they've been rather tight-lipped about him I can't really be too judgmental until I see what they've done with him. I believe they're going more with the Ultimate universe version of him (and seemingly the FF as well) so really this might turn out rather interesting. But hey...what could be worse than the simpering CEO version presented in the previous series?

Not gonna lie... an asian Blade sounds interesting to me >_>
The Fantastic Four are -fantastic- despite those the two most recent live action films. Galactus was into nerfed to a smoky oblivion. Doctor Doom was turned into a metal man that shoots lightning, but ultimately nerfed in intelligence and ability.
I shall give this a chance.
I never really cared much for the Fantastic Four, but I thought they nailed it with their choices of actors the first time around. The new cast doesn't 'look' anything like the characters. One example is Mr. Fantastic looks waaaaaay too young.

How many have been released the last 15 years?
What difference does that make?

After you said you're tired of superhero movies you couldn't understand why I asked that question?
