First of all, let's assume you do have a best friend and that God's exist. So let's say for whatever reason some crazed God from the planet Xenos comes to visit you... And this God loves to torment individuals by having them to make incredibly hard choices. In this case, he wants you to kill your best friend in a very cold blooded way, up to you which way, but it has to be something like setting him on fire or beating him to death with a hammer. All this in exchange for the survival for humanity, he won't blow up the planet or something. However keep in mind, the consequences of killing your friend are not just him being dead, the authorities will get a hold of you. So, what do you choose, and in what way will you kill your friend? edit: And killing yourself will make the god angry and blow up the world regardless.
Well it'd be incredibly tough, but you'd have to, you're screwed either way. And I'd probably lock him in a garage and fill it with car fumes. Apparently you pass out and it's painless, but cold blooded enough as he'd have to be there for a while knowing he's dying. This topic is incredibly maudlin...

Obviously, I'd ask the God for a weapon so deadly that it can cause a long excruciatingly painful death to ANYTHING it points at... then I'd use it on the God. Checkmate.

And no one stated it as logical. You could have simply answered the question like everyone else.
I suppose I'd have to do it. Who's to say the god won't just do this again to someone else who can't bring themselves to kill their best friend? It might be better to just end the cycle rather than live your life in misery.

I've already had a similar discussion with my best friend and we plan of one day fighting to the death. (Everyone knows the definiton of epic is fighting someone you know to the death.) So I would definitly kill him without a second thought. The longer I know my best friend the more and more epic it will be when I kill him.
I would kill him without a second thought to save everyone. else He is not contributing to society whatsoever.

You are a smart man, this God would definitely accept your offer.
To kill a person for any reason is morally repugnant. In one case you are killing your friend, which is morally wrong, in the other, you are not killing humanity, this god is. You are not even allowing humanity to die, since ultimately you have but this god's word that he won't end humanity if you kill your friend, you have no real control over his decision.The god does not have to end humanity, so from a moral perspective the solution is obvious.
