Drugs aren't bad for you unless if you have too much of it.
Oh yeah, cocaine is perfectly alright until you OD.

People can die from heroin or ecstasy on their first try.

You have a better chance of getting struck by lightening or dieing from a coconut hitting you on the head. If drugs are taken responsibly, then why not let us take em?
The difference in time.
Well junk food is alright until you have a heart attack. While coke may be more damaging than junk food you can still say the same thing. Whats the difference between a heroin addict and a junk food addict aside from weight? An addict is an addict, no matter that they're doing.Tiefster
[QUOTE="Tiefster"]No there should just be more education about it. By the time an obese kid has his first health class it's usually too late.horgen123I think you're right there in many cases, but not all of them.

They're illegal, but super easy to get for some reason. haha

..Right, which is why I stated earlier that it is fine until you eat too much of it.. not true for cocaine, however. The results are instantaneous.

People have a chance of dieing from anesthesia, but that doesn't stop them from agreeing with the operation. People have a chance of dieing from prescription drugs, but that doesn't stop them from taking it. What you said is true, but taking heroin for the first time and saying it may kill you doesn't justify it enough to make it illegal.
If drugs are illegal because they are bad for you, then so should junk food.Ilived
Then so should smoking and alcohol, but its not... and it never will be.

Cocaine won't kill you in your first try. I promise. It's a handy little tactic to use when trying to scare people away from drugs which these anti-drug commercials like to do rather than educate the misinformed.

Explain smoking. If junk food is illegal, smoking should be too.

Authoritarianism should be illegal.
but then that wouldnt making fat people illegal possib-- oh... gotcha.

That's not the only thing that's taken into consideration when those drugs are placed on the market.
When heroin is used in the medical field, precautions are taken to ensure that the patient can handle the dose.. that doesn't happen when you're using a street variety that is not consistent. For a first time user, without any knowledge about the drug and under the "supervision" of a dealer hopped up on drugs, the chances of overdosing on the first try are relatively high..
Drugs are illegal because the government can't make money off street dealers. As for junk food, I think people who can't control their eating habits should be illegal, or arrested. musicXpirate
You took the words right out of my mouth. The government touts that drugs are illegal, when in reality,it's the government that perpetuates the supply of these drugs (weed, crack/cocaine,shrooms).Why is it so easy to get an ounce of weed? Why is crack only centralized in the inner-cities? If the government can make money through drugs, it will. Where does that money go to? It funds the wars waged against Middle Eastern countries for oil and power.
Isn't it obvious that drugs aren't illegal because they're bad for you? If that were the case they would be treated as a health issue...
The war on drugs continues because the government doesn't want to lose control of the $70 billion+ every year that is spent on illegal drugs.

Speculating won't get you anywhere. It's not the dealers fault if the guy who took it is irresponsible.
Wouldn't making it legal and start selling it different places that are under "control" be the way to go then?Isn't it obvious that drugs aren't illegal because they're bad for you? If that were the case they would be treated as a health issue...

Legalizing them reduces the risk which in turn reduces profit.

Speculating? You've done more speculating in this thread than everyone else combined.
Taking cocaine, heroine, meth, ecstacy, LSD, and other banned narcotics responsibly is very hard.. additionally, they all have negative effects on the body. They are all much more dangerous than cheetos.
Suggesting that drugs should be legal because junk food can be unhealthy is ridiculous. I'm still trying to figure out if this is actually serious or not.
This is like saying that there shouldn't be a speed limit because knives are sharp.
