This is possibly the greatest cover of a song i've ever had the pleasure of seeing.

i freaking love Anthony Green's voice.
My favorite covers as of this moment are all the songs Dream Theater covered in The Big Medley.
I think Dream Theater is pretty hit and miss, but this song is fantastic.
Another great choice. The single also had his cover of Personal Jesus, later done by Marilyn Manson - another great cover.Hurt By Johnny Cash

Rofl. Thank you Markop and D_Battery for finally understanding that this entire thread was a joke. You both win.

Sorry, rap isn't my type at all :P
I just found this cover of Rasputin recently by Turisas and I think it kicks ass.

Wow. almost nobody in this ****ing thread even watched the video.
Elephant_Couple
I watched the video.
It was horrible.
I know that's the joke.
I posted another cover because there's absolutely nothing that needs to be discussed about the video you posted. It's bad. We get it.
I have no idea, but I saw Nirvana mentioned in this thread and thought I'd post this awesome cover by Patti Smith
"Seargent pepper's lonely hearts club band" by Jimi Hendrix :)

He butchered a great song, and that's what makes a great cover?
I always thought Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDl9ZMfj6aE KoRn's version of Word Up was always quite nice as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q-k-uN73Gk Limp Bizkit's cover of Faith is pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-EdCNjumvI I have no idea why all of those covers are by nu-metal bands. :? Am I a subconscious nu-metal fan?! :oxTheExploited
Word to Alien Ant Farm.
I've heard that before I think and I've seen them live as well. Awesome band. Battle Metal is a sweet album, haven't really listened to the new one other than some music video.Fine. Nobody check out my cover of Rasputin then. :(

Yeah, he drank vodka out of some horn thing. It was pretty cool. But Eluveitie kicked the most ass that night. And they were the opener.. Ensiferum was terribly EQ'd though, I left after three songs because they bored me to death. It's definitely not the same without Jari. I loved Ensiferum back on their first two albums, but as soon as that Petri guy came in I stopped caring. And Tyr was amazing as well, especially the vocals. Though their music wasn't as energetic as the other bands.[QUOTE="RobboElRobbo"][QUOTE="UbiquitousAeon"]I've heard that before I think and I've seen them live as well. Awesome band. lol I knew you were being sarcastic, either that or you are currently pretty high xDI can't believe some people in this thread took me seriously...

[QUOTE="tidan"]This is the only correct answer.Hurt By Johnny Cash
Parandrus
Clear example of a worthless and pointless cover.
All Along the Watchtower is a good cover. Jimi Hendrix took the original material and did something new and exciting with it. Sort of like how when James Cameron made Aliens, he didn't just rehash Alien. He took the overall concept, did something new and exciting with it, and made it its own special thing.
But when Johnny Cash covered "Hurt", I just get bored. It doesn't really add anything important, it doesn't do anything different. It's just a boring straight cover.
