Is this legitimate?

Suppose I buy some game which requires online authentication and compulsory updates (like Steam games) or those which require a permanent internet connection (like Ubisoft games), and then download a pirated copy to avoid these incenveniences, is it legal? ANyhow Ive paid for the game. And no, I never play online multiplayer games due to my slow internet connection. I only play single player. And this slow connection is the only reason I want to do this. I have never pirated anything in my life. So I wanted to know if this is legitimate. I think so, because I pay for the game.

You don't have to pirate the whole thing. You can circumvent the DRM. That's a much better alternative to actually pirating it. Also, if your internet connection is so slow, why would you be downloading several gigs worth? A lot of them are nearly 10GB now. Diophage

I can download it from a friend who has a decent internet connection. I'm from India, and here high speed internet is way too expensive here. I know a couple of people with high speed internet. I can download from them.

It's still illegal.

It is a very common misconception that it's okay to download a game/movie/album for free if you already own it.
