Is Obama getting re elected?

Just curious, is he still vastly popular in USA? Almost completely hated like towards the end of the Bush years? Somewhere in between?

Will he be a two term president?

Conservatives hate him because they're conservatives. I think the majority of individuals have grown apathetic, which is more or less what I predicted this presidency would be like.

If the election were this November, I'd say it was incredibly unlikely. However, he still has another 18 months before he has to consider reelection. That's a lot of time for positive things to start happening, and whether they're his doing or not some of the good will gets associated with him, just like some of the blame gets assigned.

Too early to tell, but my gut tells me he'll be a one termer.

It's 2 years too early to predict that. Part of it is going to depend on whether or not the Republican party can produce decent candidates. Running on the plank of "I'm not Obama" only needs to look back at the 2004 election to see how far that idea can carry you.MAILER_DAEMON

It's too soon to tell. His approval ratings aren't the greatest, but they are better than both Clinton's and Reagan's at this time in each of their respective presidencies, and they both got re-elected, while H.W. Bush had much better approval ratings at this time than all three and he ended up losing his re-election bid, so you really can't gauge anything based on that. Also, it matters a great deal as to who the GOP candidate is, but I personally find most of the potential GOP candidates spectacularly bland and generic.

If the economy is back in shape by 2012, he will get re-elected. If the conservatives put up Sarah Palin or some other uneducated nutjob, he will get re-elected. wstfld

Supposedly 2012 to 2013 is when things are supposed to get back to normal, but I doubt anyone really knows. Sarah Palin delivers on the lol's though.

It probably depends on who runs against him. If Palin decides to run against him then he is going to win, if he runs against someone like Romeny then idk. I think most of the people in the house like his ideas since they get passed. If every conservative candidate keeps trying to use immigration to get votes then I think there is a good chance he will lose.

Yeah, I'm with the majority in this thread, you'll have to give it another year at the very least before the election before we can make decent guesses. I guess it may be hinted at by the midterms later this year, which also will affect to what extents Obama can function like he has been doing.

I've looked at the economic data and I dont see any kind of change for the better happening for at least 5 years. Without any kind of positive signs that things will get better, something completely unexpected would have to happen in order for Obama to get re elected.

The republican party is leaderless and divided with a crazy group of Teabaggers invading which scare the hell out of independents.. If some one like Sarah Palin becomes the Republican candidate for president.. Then I predict that Obama would win the election, and the Republican party in their current form would never recover such a blow. The problem is, both parties are looking bad.. But the Republicans at this time are by far the worse of the two in being the party of no.. In offering absolutely no alternatives in many strategies.. Such as the Healthcare reform, in which the Republicans refuse to even cooperate in which they would have had some say in it.. Instead it got passed without Republican support which means Republicans got absolutely no say in the bill what so ever or change anything.. And now the public is still quite divided in being 50% for and 48% against.

I don't see her ever surviving a real presidential election debates and interviews.. She messed up quite a bit even as a VP runner with little time left before the election.. Most democrats want her to run for president because they feel she will publically embarrass herself as well as scare away any form of independent support.

No way Obama gets re-elected. I doubt Palin will be the republican candidate, she can barely say one sentence without looking stupid. If it comes down to Obama vs Palin our country is ****ed.

... Not really... That being said the best evidence of the possibility is the fact that many teabag party members won the republican primaries for senate in a few states.. That and the fact that the core Republican party has been increasingly neo conservative as well as the party of no gives a distinct possibility.. This would be a dream come true to Obama and the democrats if Palin were the opponent.

With Obama support in the low 40's now, I wouldnt be surprised if someone similar to Ron Pauls ideology gets elected. the disaster that was Bush paved the way for Obama and history seems to be repeating itself

Only 41% of those surveyed Tuesday through Sunday approved of the way Obama is handling his job, his lowest rating in the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll since he took office in January 2009. In Gallup's separate daily tracking poll, his approval was at 45% Monday.

Once Obama's approval is in the low 40 consistently, thats when the his supporters will start to jump ship and the feeding frenzy will begin. I fully expect his approval to eventually dip into the 30's like Bush.
