Is music today (2010s) less depressing than before?

It seems as though depressing music has died out and there is more upbeat music. The 2000s had plenty of very depressing music as did the 90s and 80s, but this decade seems like there is less prevalent depressing music. What are your thoughts?

What evidence do you have to support your claim that there is less depressing music now than there was 30 years ago?

Well I do have to say, music seems to be more "manufactured" and more about style than it used to be in the past. Most popular artists of the day don't even write their own music!
