Is it really worth the extra 30 grand?

yes you spent less because a BMW 325i is not a BMW M3...and a Mustang GT 5.0 would outperform a 325i hands down

Problem solved 8) Honestly I'd go with the Mustang, the extra cash leftover is a major bonus.

You are paying for luxury and status with the BMW. The two cars are not similar beyond power in any way.

I have owned over 8 cars and let me tell you...the mustang's handling isn't good, and lots of wheel spin and if you turn the traction control off you void tranny warranty. Also i heard 0-60 was the same as the 370z 4.9 seconds. not no 4.4 seconds.

Mustangs are so boring and cliche. I think nearly every other person in my area owns one. Lots of women drive them too, so it really defeats that muscle car stereotype. Honestly I'd much prefer the BMW. The interior is bound to be nicer as well. The only exception I'd make is if it was an older Mustang say from the '60s/'70s, but those probably cost more to keep running than the BMW costs overal...

But for 30 grand less it's probably best to go with the Mustang.

well.. I would buy it purely for its luxury.. its handling is probably a lot better then the mustangs as well.

get the 2010 saleen with 475 hp or wait until may to get the 2011 saleen with 535 hp

do not get the bmw. Trust me, you will be happy you get the saleen and if you don't want to get the saleen go with the regular 2011 mustang gt with the coyote engine. It's gonna be better than the camarro ss

have you read ANY of the reviews of the mustang in the past year, the handling is much more fine tuned, and no the GT 5.0s acceleration is 4.4, and turning traction control off doesnt void your warrenty...there is a switch that the ford put right in the car for you to use. why would they add a switch if it would only void your warrenty

Its an 03.. it has 120,000 miles and looks brand new. It was named one of the top 10 cars of the decade in terms of reliability as well.. if I can recall.

Do it man.. they will last FOREVER. They hold their value very well.. no matter how old it is it always feels like a luxury car.. they age really well. I was riding in my friends older beamer.. early 90's probly and it still feels like a luxury car.. its hard to explain lol.

It really depends on how well the previous owners took care of it. Really good cars need a lot of babying to keep them pristine.

I'd much rather have any M3 made in the last 8-9 years than any Mustang, including the GT500. The GT500 has alot more horsepower and torque than the M3, but it's also heavier. The 2010 GT500 can run through the 1/4 mile in about 12.3-12.4 seconds, the M3 can do it in 12.8-12.9. The M3 outhandles it, has a far higher standard of quality in the interior, and lower tolerances throughout the entire car. They're not even comparable. Don't get me wrong- I love the GT500 for it's raw power and great muscular looks.. but it's not in the same league as an M3.

yea.. thats true.. some stuff on BMW's are extremely expensive as well. For an oil change and a front brake job it cost 700$... no joke. Apparently my BMW has sensors and such so the brakes have to be specially done or something

You are crazy... I admit the BMW is FAR better in handling and 'luxury'...no question about that -but that is not why someone buys a Shelby GT 500 You either know what I am talking about or you don't

That's another good point. Nicer cars cost more to maintain. Premium fuel, taking care of leather. Making sure you clean off the outside more often. It's just an investment. Hopefully an owner of a nice car knows enough about them to do most of the grunt work themselves though, like brakes, batteries, etc.

I have a blast taking care of my Nissan 350z. She is my baby. We should start a car posting thread if there isn't a recent one.

Even though they really aren't for the same type of buyer, I'd definitely take the BMW any day because it handles a lot better, is more reliable, and has a lot more technology/creature comforts than the Mustang. The Mustang is basically for people who either like muscle cars or want a lot of power for a low price.

That extra 30 grand goes toward making sure it doesn't fall apart in a year or two.

[QUOTE="sonicare"][QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"]I own a BMW 325i, I spent a lot less then 60,000 on it, but I did spent a substantial amount, I never looked back.. its a great car, and I guarantee you it's built much better then any ford mustangimaps3fanboy
325i has a pansy engine. You really need a 330 to experience the thrill of driving a BMW. And the car they are comparing is the BMW M3 which is further spec'd out.

Lol.. i didnt buy it for its engine.. I bought it for the look, handling, and luxury..

You should have bought a japanese entry luxury car if that was what you are going for - a acura TL or a lexus IS. BMW's have fairly poor reliability. The biggest advantage they have over the japanese counterparts is that they are more fun to drive. But if you get the 325i or 328i versions, you're losing a big part of that experience.

BMW fairly poor reliability? They're pretty good to be honest.

fairly poor reliability? thats why the same exact model I own was named as one of the top ten most reliable cars of the decade? lol..I have over 120,000 miles on mine and its been perfect. BTW the 325i has plently of power.. I live in a city.. I don't need it to go that fast anyways.
