Iowa grants gun permits to the blind

So here is an interesting bit of news, Iowa is granting gun permits to blind people so that they can carry them in public. Iowa is not the only state to do this, Wisconsin for example has no restrictions for the visually impaired.

Personally I believe this could be harmful to public safety, but oddly I don't feel all that strongly that blind people should not be allowed to have guns.....I don't know, if the person is cool-headed it really shouldn't be a problem.

What do you guys think? Are you cool with blind people carrying guns?

Just because the state classifies you  as legally blind does not mean you cannot see at a functional level.  As long as an individual can safely handle a firearm and understands the responsibilities that come along with operating a firearm, then there should be no major impediment to him/her exercising his/her 2nd amendment privilege.

Well, it would depend how "blind" they are. Some legally blind people can see reasonably well. Master_Live
