I'd also need matches and lots of talcum powder. I'm too lazy to start a fire native-style. Beyond those extras, sure. I've spent time in the jungles of the Philippines and Colombia. Edit:
I need lots of talcum powder because my feet reeked after a few days without showering....enough to make some throw up inside a crowded tent.
I believe most people actually could, even if they say they couldn't. It's a becomes a primal instinct when you get in the situation.
I could manage a forest in the northern hemisphere for two weeks, but not the Amazon. Too many unknowns for me, and I wouldn't trust the water.jimkabrhel
Boil the water. Not that hard people.
Survival for two weeks in a jungle would be easy. Jungles have copious amounts of water, and frankly, you could survive in a jungle for two weeks without eating a single thing as long as you have water. And making fire... lets just say the difficulty on making a fire in a jungle is finding dry tinder and wood. Fire + unsafe water = safe water.
A big concern is keeping the dangerous critters away, but again, not hard as that is done with fire and shelter. Shelters are not particularly difficult to make. With a shelter, you want 3 things: Roof over your head; Floor off the ground; Fire nearby.
The most difficult thing is finding food to eat. Plants are a no-no unless you have experience in the specific jungle. Insects are a similar story, so unless you have knowledge on the bugs of the region, 90% of them are off limits. So your main options are meat gotten from birds or rodents, which are not easy to get.
Frankly, you'd have to be unhealthy or completely and utterly inept (hyperbole fyi) to not survive for a measly two weeks in a jungle.

In this instance, we were given a days supply of water. The water must be in something, and you can use that something to boil the water you collected.
Also, you can boil water in a plastic bottle. Not ideal, but better than being dead.

At the end of the day, you can do two things: Try, or not.
Who knows. You might just succeed if you think about how to do it, and then attempt it.
(And never mind that it is just an assumption that we have a days worth supply of water that is in plastic. It could be in metal bottles, or a combination of the two, or something else entirely.)
Also, as it rains in the jungle, you can collect it in whatever bottle you have. There are a number of possibilities to attain safe drinking water.

Yeah I personally believe I could do it. I am just asking because I might as well know instead of figuring out if that ever did happen lol.This. I have no idea how to do that lol.[QUOTE="Ugalde-"][QUOTE="konvikt_17"]

id rather keep all the bottles id have for collecting rainwater and such, than to melt one trying to boil water in it.:P
i could probly get by for a few days. ive seen enough survivorman and man vs wild to have a very basic know-how on what to do.
Probably depending on what kind of a jungle. Doubt I would survive an Amazon with poisonous snakes/frog's/all that scary stuff.
Curious if anyone here has basic survival skills. I never became a boy scout or learned all those useful fend for yourself skills. I'd be dead meat!! All you're given is a days worth of water and a spear. You got what it takes? Capitan_KidSurvive? I think so. Though that primarily depends on what jungle I am in,and how many predatory animals live in that area. If it were a desert, my answer would probably be different. But while I'm not exactly obese, I suspect that I could survive for two weeks without eating anything. Dehyfration would be a big deal, but you've helped me out a lot by putting me in a jungle. Jungles tend to have lots of water. So the big question is...what predators live there, and could I avoid them or beat them off for two weeks? That depends.
It would all depend on fire to be honest. If I was able to get a fire started to help with exposure and to boil water ( to make it safer ) I would probably be fine. You can not eat for that long. Safe water would be a deal breaker though.

I'd do the same, as it is overall the safer method.
And if I felt it necessary, I'd go a step further, and make a rudimentary filter and use on the rain water (and... urine if I was desperate).
I also find it surprising how much I've actually learned from Survivorman and Man vs. Wild. Being entertained, and learn something simultaneously, is something rare.
