wow...what an awful movie. A huge joke to the show. Do not go see this movie. M. Night Shamalyan should stop making movies.

The casting was awful, the acting was a joke, pacing was too fast, and had absolutely no plot.

Edit: If you folks would like some more info I saw an advanced free screening. I saw it with 3 friends and they honestly hated it well more than me and were huge fans of the show. My biggest problem was with the acting. It sounds like the characters were reading STRAIGHT OFF A SCRIPT on set. It was embarrassing to watch. And c'mon if you saw any pictures or trailers you would know the casting is just WRONG. They made Zuko's Uncle into some skinny unfunny dude. As if they didnt fail with Zuko enough.

They didnt even pronounce the names right! Agh! It was frustrating.

The only thing I enjoyed was Seychelle Gabriel as Princess Yue...mmm.

People were honestly laughing at some of the bending techniques. They danced and paraded around like fools, and the elements didnt even move fast at all while they performed techniques.

The guy infront of me said to his wife "This is really bad" towards the end of the movie. What a bad movie. It was DB Evolution bad.

if you want to know anything about the story, or character just ask me a question.

Hollywood needs to get their act together. Stop making stuff like Airbender (whos idea was this?) and DBZ. They should pick anime (BTW Airbender is NOT an anime to begin with) series with a tight beginning middle and end. Not these super long and complicated series. Series that would work: Ghost in the Shell, Gundam, Eva, Battle Angel Alita ( Cameron needs to get on this)...There are more but I am tired. Also, I am not saying that Hollywood should be making these films but if they are at least pick ones that will work...

The fact that it's not out till July 1st and that the TC started his rant by complaining about casting makes me think he didn't actually see the movie at all.

Yup and there is also a live action Akira and Ninja Scroll movie in the works. (Akira takes place in New York lol). Also Steven Spielberg wants to work on a CGI movie based off of Ghost in the Shell.

I really rather not have both movies come out because either way they both prob be horrible, but Keanu Reeves as mugen would be Lulz. They should just find a person that actually can play Mugen

Really? Oh wow Hollywood is running out of ideas lol. Seems like most of the time new titles out of HW are based off cartoons (animes), books, remakes, comics now a days.

I actually believe him because I seen the Advance screening with the exact same movie ticket.

SPOILERS!!!!!! Just for those who dont want to know .....

I did not think it was as bad as he made it seem, though I am not a fan of the original Avatar show so take that however you will. With that said, he is not kidding when he said the movie was not great. The acting was not terrible but just cheesy sometimes, some parts were just awkward and some of the characters tried way to hard to "fit" into their fantasy roll, it just seemed like amature acting.

The fighting was cool looking and all but I really think M Night was taking advice from Micheal Bay because sometimes the fight scenes were way over the top, and not in a cool way. A good example without spoiling the movie would be the Court yard fight scene were Aang fights with Water and Ice, which looks really cool at first but then it gets really over the top (way to much slow motion) and becomes one of those... "Ok we've seen that already moment." A good example to compare some of the fighting scenes too would be Transformers, but if you like that kind of stuff that more power to you.

The story from what I understand follows the show so I don't understand how th OP could complain about it, unless there's things I may not know about. Long story short, it is a straight up Popcorn movie, which is ok for some movies and such but though I am not a fan of the series, It does seem like the movie had more potential than to be this exaggerated action flick.

Keanu Reaves is actually pushing for this film to happen. Its all him. SO, obviously he cares the anime. I think he would do a fine job.

Is it just me, or are M. Nightmare's movies getting progessively worse here? I mean Sixth Sense was actually good, but now take a look at (the recent) The Happening, and what a giant piece of **** that is (at least Mark Wahlberg gave one of the best comedic performances in recent years).

Unbreakable to me was better than Sixth Sense. Signs was decent cause I like Mel Gibson. Lady in the Water was BLEH, Happening was BLEH x 2. God and The Village... horrible. I refuse to sit through another movie made by him anymore

I pretty much knew the second M. Night was in the credits it would be horrible, but I wanted to believe it would be good because I love the series. Oh well :(. Do Appa and Momo look as horrible as the trailers or did you warm up to them eventually?
