Well I think I've spent around 500 hours playing the Final Fantasy games (still picking my way through XII, but school keeps me busy), and around 500 hours on the Elder Scrolls Games...Then maybe 1,500 hours on various sports games....
Totally not a waste of time :P
download SNES roms that will get u back into gaming_Celldweller_I dunno man, I played a few snes games back in the time, and I think the super nintendo had some great RPGs. And anyways, aren't emulators illegal? Like I said, I kinda find games a waste of time, because they are time consuming, and I was thinking maybe I should go out and do stuff.

Entertainment is entertainment. It all takes time...LJS9502_basicyes, but if i went into basketball, not only might I find it fun, but it improves your physical health, hand and eye coordination, and possibly reflexes. 4 benefits in one.

I have to agree. It's just intimidating to know that people can be so good at something so complex. It's overwhelming to think about all of the work, practice, and frustration that goes into becoming 1337.
1337ness can only be achieved by taking one step at a time...

It depends entirely on your own personal tastes. You might just prefer action games which dont require too much user-involvement. Try Ninja Gaiden or God of War or something like that. More basic fun than complicated game experience.
Oh and, avoid the crap out of mass effect. :P
Just play a shooter. They usually produce mindless fun.metallica_fan42Noooo. Try playing some Call Of Duty 4 online and tell me that's mindless.
try Final Fantasy I in the PS1 remake or the GBA remake or the PSP remake or a the NES (or an emulator of any of those consoles), its an RPG gut its very simple and extremly addictive (just dont play it on easy mode or it loses its fun, try to leave the options like the original NES game)
also you could try Guitar Hero or God of War, those games are what i play whenever im tired and i dont wanna think too much
I feel exactly the same as you. I mean I have Lair= sold ;never finished
Motorstorm= not even half way done; dont plan to play anymore
R&C Tools of Destruction= done but only main gameplay; not goin to get 100% done
Fifa 08 is the only game i play and i only play online
I feel that gaming is a waste of time. Because i can do homework and sports instead!
God of War, Devil May Cry, Prince of Persia are all awesome games that aren't too deep and complex and they're filled with action packed fun :DPearl_of_EgyptProblem is, I don't have a console, not even a ps2. I'm thinking about getting a ps3 once better games come out. I guess my problem is I only have a ds.

Emulators aren't illegal if you at some point owned the actual console in physical form.

Get a ps3, 360 is cool, but ps3 will be better in the long run.
Sometimes games cant be fun to some people, like God of war to me. I thought it was bland. I dont know, maybe you feel the laziness your not used to sitting in front of the tv. Under a recent survey, people who are physically active can play games longer, but choose not to due to lack of physical activity. Excluding wii sports/fit LOL.
While us gamers can do gameathons on the weekend, most of us feel like crap afterwards because 10 hours in a couch after 10 hours of sleep really slows your body down and you feel like the little things just hurt like hell. Pretty much all that. If you love games, the fitter you are, the better and longer you can play, but be warned, getting fit can be fun and stop gamers from being just that. SO be warned gamers who heed my advice!

Video games improve 3 out of 4 of those things.
