How old is too old to trick or treat?

I'm 17 and for the past few years I've continued to question my friends everytime they invited me to go trick-or-treating with them. Now, their ages range from 16-18 (one of them is in college) and they're trying to make plans to do it again this year. I want to explain to them that we're too old to participate in that stuff, but I don't know how to approach them about it because they always seem to doubt what I say on the matter. This is what's been holding me back all this time.

How old do you think is too old? How should I approach them about this without them disregarding what I say (like they do every year) since they clearly haven't grown out of it?

I stopped when I was 14 I think.

I think I quit when I was 12-13, I can't remember though. Getting candy is fun now... but going to Halloween parties with half-naked beautiful women is much better.

You are too old. Go buy some candy from Rite-Aid and go to a party. I admit I went out at 16 but I stopped the next year.frostybanana

I know I'm too old I just don't know how to tell my friends that they're too old, becuase I don't understand why they still do it. Everytime I suggest that they're too old they ignore me or shoot down the suggestion, and just go with it anyway. Perhaps I should reword the original post.

You're never too old, you just have to do it in more style. And if people aren't giving you candy, just find some local kids to go along with, their parents will thank you for looking after them, and you get a share of the profits :twisted:

14+. That's when I stopped.

Whenever my voice broke. That would be 13, then.

I don't know, but at 24 I have started dressing up again. We don't trick or treat we just dress up and party.

I'm 16 and i stopped when i was 11. I either didn't do anything except stay at home and eat candy i bought at home while watching a halloween theme movie. But this year I'm going to a halloween party and then to some this haunted farm (its not really haunted just like a resort) on the 31st cause the party is on the 30th.

I'm 18 and I'll probably hit a few houses with my friends for fun and tradition.. What's the big deal?? "GUYZ ur too mature 2 trick or treat!" Well it's fun, and those putting a cap on what age is appropriate, get the stick out of your bum. It's just something to do. Besides, it's free candy. And don't tell me to go do mature things like go to Halloween parties and stuff, because I'm going to 2 parties. One on saturday night and another on Halloween night. Nothing like alcohol and candy. It's the best of both worlds!

Once you get into your teens then it becomes too old. I think it's pathetic seeing high school age kids dressing up for trick-or-treating

The age limit? Death. Then you get to haunt everybody's ass. Halloween fun never ends.

Funny thing is where I live more high schoolers trick or treated then middle schoolers.

i think around 12 or 13
