$45,000/year for me.  Scholarships reduced it to $29,000/year... still a little much...  Not like I'm paying it, though. :P

I cant come to America unless i clear USMLE or PLAB to qualify for a job in America or UK respectively, i will be staying in Pakistan. Tell me is it really important to earn your own money to pay for the university fee, jobs here are very scanty?

Oh okay, my cousin became a doctor in Nigeria but now he is in the UK. university/colleges in america are really expensive and its pretty much in my opinion impossible to pay off your school without help from your parents, government, scholarships and so on. Jobs here dont pay you enough.

My parents ripped me off and said they would pay, but I ended up having to pay for all my books still.

Here in Canada Tuition if you live in the same city is like $2800 or $5000 or something. If you have to pay for residence too it's double that at least. Plus books are typically $500 a semester or so.

Right now i'm at Hawaii Community College where my tuition so far has only been about $1000 for 4 classes and books each semester.  It's a lot cheaper than if I took those same classes at the University, then after I take the courses I need i'll probly transfer my credits to the university.

All my tuition, housing, food, etc. comes to about 15k a year. I'm getting it all pretty much getting taken care of through scholarships and financial aid, but I end up paying like 1k a year in loans or something like that...

That is what is pissing me off about the University of Michigan and some of the schools adapting and allowing AA to be acceptable. Totally ridiculous.

Anyway, I went through private school pretty much my whole life and then college cost about 45 grand I suppose each year. Thankfully I am almost done with college. My brother took a lot of tuition money too because he went to the University of Michigan and then NYU as a grad student and decided he had to live in his own place in Greenwich Village, NYC all the way in lower Manhattan. All this was paid by our parents for both of us, luckily.

Bleeker Street is an awesome place to live (that is where he lived for a while and had his own place). And you can go see the Knicks lose anytime you want 8)

I'm only paying for 25% of my tuition because of a scholarship I got. Though I'm sure that 25% is still gonna cost a bit, as well as books and stuff.

I'm a resident of the state my school's in. In-state tuition is about $6500. Room and board starts at about 6800 and goes up. Out of state tuition is like $16,000.

At any rate, I have a full tuition scholarship so I'm only responsible for room and board. Right now, I take out loans for it.

Same.

You may have to get student loans, but 4 years may run upwards of $60,000 at a normal university.

well at first I was just getting tuition, and housing paid for.  then everything else ended up being covered also.  I didn't really spend much.

If I would of had to pay for my own college I wouldn't of went to school very much in the US.

Well it's only my first year and I have like 5 loans and I don't even know who I have loans from or how much...It sucks...I got one loan and found out the interest was like 14%, when I remember it saying like 7% when I signed up, so I got another loan to pay that off, then needed a new loan for the spring, then found out one of the loans they want me to start paying back, and I told them I thought it was deferred so they put it on hold for a year, but then it will cost 25% more....so I need a new loan to pay off that, AND another loan for next year.

I think I've borrowed about $13,000...and at the interest rates I have, if I make the minimum payments, it is expected to cost about $60,000 for that alone...

So I'm guessing it will cost me around $350,000 for four years (after all the stupid loans are payed off). I'm not even going to a big school...... My parents gave me no money for school.
