Tell me is it really important to earn your own money to pay for the university fee, jobs here are very scanty?[QUOTE="Acetylcholine"]My parents pay for my university.lugiemojeed

[QUOTE="Acetylcholine"]My parents pay for my university.lugiemojeedi wish affirmative action was still in effect. That is what is pissing me off about the University of Michigan and some of the schools adapting and allowing AA to be acceptable. Totally ridiculous.

Anyway, I went through private school pretty much my whole life and then college cost about 45 grand I suppose each year. Thankfully I am almost done with college. My brother took a lot of tuition money too because he went to the University of Michigan and then NYU as a grad student and decided he had to live in his own place in Greenwich Village, NYC all the way in lower Manhattan. All this was paid by our parents for both of us, luckily.

Bleeker Street is an awesome place to live (that is where he lived for a while and had his own place). And you can go see the Knicks lose anytime you want 8)I'm a resident of the state my school's in. In-state tuition is about $6500. Room and board starts at about 6800 and goes up. Out of state tuition is like $16,000.
At any rate, I have a full tuition scholarship so I'm only responsible for room and board. Right now, I take out loans for it.
My parents pay for my university.AcetylcholineSame.
You may have to get student loans, but 4 years may run upwards of $60,000 at a normal university.
Well it's only my first year and I have like 5 loans and I don't even know who I have loans from or how much...It sucks...I got one loan and found out the interest was like 14%, when I remember it saying like 7% when I signed up, so I got another loan to pay that off, then needed a new loan for the spring, then found out one of the loans they want me to start paying back, and I told them I thought it was deferred so they put it on hold for a year, but then it will cost 25% more....so I need a new loan to pay off that, AND another loan for next year.
I think I've borrowed about $13,000...and at the interest rates I have, if I make the minimum payments, it is expected to cost about $60,000 for that alone...
Â
So I'm guessing it will cost me around $350,000 for four years (after all the stupid loans are payed off). I'm not even going to a big school...... My parents gave me no money for school.Â
