how many times did it take you to pass your driving test? (not talking about learners computer test)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
had to do it twice.
the first time was a dumb mistake. the driver's liscense test track had the road you were driving on constantly shifting into different types of roads. At the very end of the test i screwed up on the last turn. I was on a 4 lane highway, i mistook it for a 2 2-lane avenue. So i didn't move all the way to the left to tun left.
dumb mistake that i never made in real world.
when i did it again was done quickly.
If the answer isn't "one", then you have no business drivingxaosBut people always have to keep on trying like the Korean woman did with her 772nd test. There's hope for everyone...

There's hope for everyone... To me that signifies the absolute bare minimum of knowledge has been learned and any further advancement is highly unlikely. So i don't want to near her on the road either.

Allowing her to continue taking the test means less hope for everyone.

So i don't want to near her on the road either. I remember reading that she needed 60 points or something like that to pass the written part and she kept getting under 50. Yea, I would be very afraid of her being on the road. Old people driving scares me too.
Passed the driving portion with ease (including parellel parking. Not sure if this is require by all but ya just saying) but i had to retake the written test cause i missed one more than what was allowed. So lame. Not one single accident or mis-hap since i got it 2 years ago.
I think it was 5 or more. Then we moved to California and I got a 98% on my first try. Bunch of a-hole testers in Minnesota taking off 5 points for every imaginable thing.
Been driving 30 years with a spotless record, for the guy who says I have no business driving.
heh i've been driving for 10 years now in the United States, Europe and Saudi Arabia. no accident either on my account.Passed the driving portion with ease (including parellel parking. I had to retake the written portion because half the test was about DUI penalties. There was a big push in the state that year for DUI education. Apparently, it's not enough for me to say "I won't drive drunk". No... I must also know that after my first DUI conviction, I can serve X number of days in jail, pay a fine of Y dollars, and have Z points removed from my license. And I must know every XYZ combo for all additional convictions. Questions like "what does this sign mean" or "in this scenario, which car has the right of way" were apparently not very important to the DMV that year.
If the answer isn't "one", then you have no business drivingxaosBecause failing the parallel parking means you can't drive

In my opinion, that's absolutely what it means. Any idiot can parallel park.
[QUOTE="Da_lil_PimP"][QUOTE="xaos"]If the answer isn't "one", then you have no business drivingxaosBecause failing the parallel parking means you can't drive  Because failing your driving test means that you can't drive. no it doesn't. It could mean a few things. Unless a robot is the examiner, then humans are inclined to score people any which way, even if their is a protocol to follow. I'm sure many people have got stuck with a stickler and failed over trivial things that the person was caught up on because of some psychological association, and then other drivers have been passed when they shouldn't have because they had an examiner who felt sorry for them. so there is definitely room for forgiveness here. For not passing, and even those that pass may have had some kind of favoritism, or other thing going on to their advantage.

Mhmmm I beg to differ. I have seen plenty of drivers who can execute everything perfectly but when it comes to parallel parking in a tight spot they just can't. Parallel parking should only be part of driving tests in the city. Other than that nobody ever parallel parks. I've had my license for 2 years and have not done it once nor needed to.If the answer isn't "one", then you have no business drivingxaos
I heard about someone who had to do it 23 times.
But im guessing thats either a lie or an exaggerated lie. *shrugs*
I think it's way easier in USA. Here in Sweden only a minority pass the first time. Most people take like 3-5 times to pass.
[QUOTE="xaos"]If the answer isn't "one", then you have no business driving_7h0m_sorry to break it down to you but i had a friend who was an evaluator and he failed people to reach quotas. So? You should still be good enough to be in the proportion that he couldn't fail.

So according to you, even if you do everything else correctly during the test, but fail the parallel PARKING means you can't DRIVE?

Otherwise, you should know how to maneuver your vehicle.
