Got a DVD player when they first came out.

The selection of DVDs available in stores was tiny; like a 4 row rack of 30 titles or something.

But... I didn't bother to go BluRay/HD-DVD.... Don't really feel like buying all my movies again.

:? Do you mean adapt to new stuff?

Edit: Rereading your title and your message, adapt wouldn't be the right word. I don't understand what you mean by "adopt". Do you mean buy new stuff? :?

TC your confusing me here. I assume you are talking about Adapting to new things but that doesn't make much sense because in your post you only mention new technology items/ products. Adapting to new things is a brand new change in your environment which you have to cope with.

Anyway..I am not one of those people you gets hungry at every new piece of technology they see. I will wait for a piece of equipment and buy it conisdering I have enough $ and that it is worth it.

buying something the day it comes out proves you have money, not your adaptability. i've never understood people who feel that being able to buy something the day it's released is worth bragging about.

adaptability is about getting out of your comfort zone, meeting new people and trying new things. it's not about accumulating material things.

Ummm. It depends. I thought you meant changes. I hate change for the most part. I dunno. My dad kinda did it to me. The DVD player example, ours was 800 dollars for our first one back in like 1999ish. My first iPod was in 2001, but thats cause I hated wasting like cd's all the time whenever I would get a new song that I wanted to listen to. Normally though, I think I got my PS2 the spring after it launched...so like March-ish 2001. So it was not right away, but it was pretty darn close. My HDTV, I got back in 2004; so a pretty early adopter for that overall. Ummm, usually I guess I wait a little while just to see where the thing that I am buying is at as far as quality, price, features...ect. I like to research before I just jump in.

I got a Wii the first day. I wish I could be one of the first to get the new Dell mini notebook about to be released but I probably won't have enough money for a while.:(

I got all the harry potter books 4-7 on launch night standing in a small line at a low profile grocery store that sold them. Spoilers wouldnt waste their time going there. Also I read the book all night it was a summer tradition I did when a new book came out. Good times good times. I also bought Shadowrun when it came out in the morning when I got out of school that same exact day (also good times).

You know DVDS? Yeah I just bought one this year, instead of borrowing it from others or using VCRS.
