dont think ive ever seen a topic like this here before.

So when/if you do the dishes, how do you load the dishwasher?

Do you just cram dishes in there?

Do you try to be organized?

-

I have to wash the dishes every night.

Me, i try to be organized. ours has about 6 slots for silverware. the first slot i put forks in, second i put spoons in, third is for butter knives. the remaining slots are for miscellaneous silverware. likeplastic forks and such. oversized silverware.

our steak knives or sharp knives i wash by hand.

then i put plates and bowls on the bottom rack.

then everything else goes on the top rack. regular cups on one side, then cups with handles(mostly coffe cups) go on the other side. then big plastic spoons and other various bigger or oddly shapen utensils go in the middle.

i handwash pots and pans and other things too big for the dishwasher.

Sometimes when the dishwasher gets full i will put some bowls in the top rack.

I also find myself re-arranging the dishes on the rare occasion that my parents do the dishes, as they often put the dishes in the wrong spot:P

So OT,  how do you load your dishwasher?

I organize them and make sure they have enough space so they can get clean.

We never use it oddly enough. I'd like to say something about it, but I'm used it being the way it is.

Very organized since certain dishes fit better in certain sections with certain orientations.

First time I ever used one of them was last week and I just threw em all over in there, and they got clean. They're sposed to save you time so that's what I went with.

Did you hear clanking coming from the vicinity of the dishwasher?

With my luck, the dishwasher would blow up if I did that.

Does yours make you put them in a certain way? For instance, my wife puts them in a certain way and I put them in "backwards" because she is left handed and I am right handed. I just gave up trying to please her. I either do them, and put them up, or she does. There's no tandem effort with dishes.

i don't think she cares about the arrangement much since they are clean when they go in and she says they are only getting put through for "sterilization". lol.

like it's a friggin autoclave or something.

heh, this was an argument/concept i gave up on winning years ago.

everything on the top rack because the bottom rack sucks for some reason.
