How do you guys find time for everything? (work, study, play, forums, gaming)

I'm at that age now where I don't have 1/4th of the free time I used to have as a high school student.

I been working straight out of high school for a few months now cause I didn't know what I want to study. It really cut my free time down, add a boyfriend to the mix and thing get even tougher, I can't remember the last time I slept a good 7+ hours. The last game I played was Diablo 3 and that's purely out of not having time for anything else, I played Diablo 3 for about 2 weeks and since then I been working and seeing my bf all the time.

Now I want to start studying and working less hours at work. But I really want to play new releases like GW2 and even pick up some old ones like Arkham City.

How do you guys do it? How ma I supposed to balance work, play and a relationship?

I work overnight, I have my girlfriend who is 6 months pregnant, plus appointments, hospital visits and other stuff, I barely have time to play now, even on my day off I'm busy.... As you get older other things start taking up your time... It happens.

Forget about free time in the beginning, focus on "what's important". Eventually you'll find your own rythm and manage to save yourself some free time too.

WORK > STUDY > WIFE/HUSBAND > KIDS > HOUSE > FAMILY/FRIENDS > GAMING.

Always seems like there isn't enough hours in the day. Having a love one in your life who cares about you is something more special then just work and games. You'll learn to balance it and take care of your responsibilities over time, but it was tough at first.

I agree with you, as much as I sometimes feel I need a break I must realize that the things I already have are often more important than the other things I want. If I lost my bf to focus on gaming... I'd only want him back a month later.

Just always try and do something. I'm going to school and work like 20 hours a week and still have time for games and usually get 7-8 hours of sleep.

Well really I have nothing holding me back from gaming and doing whatever so I guess I have no problem finding the time.

Is it really necessary to work while you study? Curse the expensive american education system.. It's all about being efficient. Study quickly and efficiently, don't lolligag on facebook/email while studying and you complete it in no time, Do not take breaks. Plan your time so you dont have gaps of wasted time. Study, go to work, then spend time with friends/gaming. Have your boyfriend come and play PC with you together :)

I'm in medical school in europe. I'm top of my class, i get 7.5hours of sleep per night, i play 3h of games per day and still watch 1h of TV on top of that, and I have time to date. I don't have a job, nor do I want one, medical school is enough work.

Unless you really need the money, drop the job. Life is about balance between work and play, what kind of life is just working and studying :(

I have a set routine every week. I go to go school Monday-Thursday and play games at night when I'm done with studying/homework. I work Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and I go out with my girlfriend every Friday.

It gets pretty repetitive but it gives me a solid balance and allows me with enough free time and money to avoid getting overly stressed out and being able to afford most things that I want.

Seems that most of you don't have much leisure time and lives burdened with responsibility. Sounds lame.

The key is:don't be social. I have few friends with whom I go out 2 or 3 times a month and no girlfriend :cry:. That leaves me time for studying (top student in university), gaming, tv, reading etc. Sometimes I may have a lot of studying to do which eats into my free time but I know that good grades should be my priority. In your case I would recommend quiting the job if it's a valid option to commit yourself to studying and spend a bit less time with your bf.

I find time even with NROTC and school work, but I don't really study/read that much :P

Funny thing is that I barely play that many video games anymore. I only pop in UMVC3.

Personally, I do very little balancing because, well, I already have a lot of free time on my hands. :V

I know this isn't a very original answer, but you really need to figure out what you want to study. I'm sure there are at least a few things you're interested in studying. Perhaps things will be easier for you if you start going to school, though of course I know nothing about your other circumstances.

Also, I don't think you should worry about free time for your boyfriend and games too much; you need to focus on getting a good night's sleep. Trust me, it's annoying to not be able to relax whenever you want, but if it means giving yourself more hours of sleep, then it's a pretty good trade. Personally, I can't function very well throughout the day if I sleep for only 7 hours.

All about finding the right balance. If you really wanted to do other things, you just have to make time for it even if it's only an hour or less.

I dont work so i have all the freetime i need.

Well, I work a full-time job, but only get 3 or 4 shifts a week since each shift is 13.5 hours long so I get a decent amount of days off, during which I go out, hang out with friends, walk the dog, play games, work on my computer and spent time with my girlfriend if she's got the same days off. Either way, she lives with me so we're pretty much always together.

Even at my job I have a lot of time to chill out and sit at my laptop... which is what I'm doing right now actually. This is where I spent the most time on the forums.
